Rera is a personal bookshelf app for binding your own traces to the books you read. "Rera" means "wind" in the Ainu language.
It is not an app for producing a tidy reading log. The sentence you underlined, the page you couldn't help photographing, the note you scribbled - it is a tool for keeping who you were at the time inside a single book. Finished books line up on a shelf you can flip back through any time.
KEY FEATURES
[Wood-grain bookshelf]
Switch between a shelf view that lines books up by cover and a list view. Reorder and delete freely.
[Three ways to add a book]
Type a title, photograph a cover or barcode with the camera, or scan a barcode to auto-fill. Put books on the shelf however you like.
[Barcode auto-fill]
Scan the barcode on the back of a book and the title, author, and cover are pulled in from a bibliographic database. No typing - straight to the shelf.
[Bind your traces]
Attach any number of photos, screenshots, and notes to each book. The page that caught your eye, the line you want to quote, what you were thinking at the time - kept as if pasted into the book.
[Highlights and bold]
Mark words inside a note with a highlighter or bold to emphasize the lines that stayed with you.
[Reading-pass tabs]
Add a tab each time you reread: "1st," "2nd," and so on. The same book, a different you each time - keep that change too.
[Back-tap quick note]
Tap the back of your device to jot a note instantly. Even without a book open, you won't miss the moment of inspiration. Attach it to a book later from the inbox.
[Reading dashboard]
A dashboard for browsing the number of books and statistics on the traces you've bound.

Compile your shelf into a single PDF - vertical for poetry and Japanese books, horizontal for technical or photo-heavy ones, with a washi-paper feel. Or back everything up as a ZIP of books, photos, and notes.

PRIVACY
No account required. Books, photos, and notes are all stored on your device and are never sent to the developer or any third party. The only communication is sending an ISBN code to auto-fill bibliographic data when you scan a barcode - no personal information is ever sent.
