This is not your typical notes app!
In simpler times, if someone had a thought, they might jot it down in a notebook. If they had another thought, it would go right below the earlier one. No need for organizing, tagging, editing, or correcting old mistakes. If something became distracting, or if it was a TODO item that was done, it could just be crossed out.
This app is that: a note taking app reminiscent of pen and paper, where the only form of organization was the sequence the notes were written in. With Appended, if you have a thought, you append it to your only ongoing note. If some entry is no longer relevant, you can cross it out, or delete it, but there is no temptation -- because there's no ability -- to edit or organize.
Appended differs from a paper notebook in only two ways:
* Notes are (optionally) rendered in markdown. Without a distracting formatting UI, you can bring life to your notes by adding lists, tables, links, or rich text
* Notes are full searchable, making it much easier to find something you wrote months ago buried among all your other great ideas
Other great features:
* Encrypted notes sync securely across all your devices (requires iCloud)
* Create notes using Siri by simply saying "Create a note using Appended"
* View or add notes straight from your Apple Watch
* Use the Shortcuts app to append notes, search them, and more
* Optionally hide entries that don't match your search results for a cleaner view, or show them to provide some extra context
* Strikethrough notes that are no longer important to you, or optionally hide them. Easily toggle whether they're included in search results
* Share individual notes
* Copy notes to your clipboard
Features Appended does NOT have:
* Complicated organization that makes you wonder where you've put old notes
* Super flexible organization that makes you feel guilty when you just need to write something down so you don't forget it
* Todo lists that grow faster than you can manage, resulting in you never using it anymore
* Distracting formatting UIs, making you think about how your notes should look rather than noting them before you forget
* Editing existing notes
更多 This version brings a couple improvements:
* Exclude words or phrases from search. Prefix any word or quoted phrase with a "-" to exclude matching notes
* Hitting return when searching will minimize the search bar, giving you more room to see search results
* Links, addresses, and phone numbers, are detected and tappable
* Minor performance improvements due to better caching
...and some small fixes:
* Only http/https links will open in-app. Other schemes, such as mailto://, will open apps based on your system preferences
* Search bar only allows one line of text

With this version, some core components have been rebuilt entirely. As a result, there are a few minor (but still exciting!) improvements, but mostly these changes make room for some new features I'm really excited about in an upcoming version. In this version:
* Performance improvements when syncing with iCloud
* Performance improvements when searching
* Improved context menus (when you tap and hold on a note) show the entire note, even if it's a big one
* Swiping right all the way will automatically copy the note contents
* Some animations were removed to make things snappier
* Some under-the-hood improvements to make way for a few exciting features soon to come
As well as a few bugfixes:
* Deleting notes when the keyboard is visible no longer dismisses the confirmation
* The scroll direction on macOS and watchOS now respects your system preferences

Now you can use markdown to save:
* code blocks
* lists and nested lists, both ordered and unordered, as well as checklists
* block quotes
* tables
* and more!
An in-app link to markdownguide.org shows a great tutorial for how to add these elements if you need to sharpen your markdown skills, or validate your markdown by long-pressing the save button to preview.
And as a reminder, markdown is 100% optional, so if you prefer plain text, or perhaps some bold text here or there, there is absolutely nothing you need to do differently.

With version 1.1.2, you can now share URLs or any plain text with Appended from other apps.
Also: improvements to auto-detecting tags, and a confirmation before sending you to another app when tapping on links.
