Guitar Open Tunings Trainer helps guitarists turn open tunings into playable chord movement.
Retuning can make familiar chord shapes disappear. This app gives each tuning its own home base, string labels, built-in loops, movable chord shapes, and guided tuning workflow so Open G, Open D, DADGAD, Open E, Open A, and Open C feel easier to practice.
Use it to practice open tunings in real chord changes:
- Choose a supported open tuning before you start.
- Tune string by string with guided mode, or use advanced mode with a tuner and full tuning chart.
- Start with built-in loops designed for that tuning.
- See the full progression while you practice.
- Follow the current chord shape and preview the next move on the fretboard.
- Use Key Explorer to see the chords that belong to the tuning's home key.
- Compare open-position grips with movable shapes across the neck.
- Build and save custom progressions locally on your device.
- Practice with BPM, playback, metronome, and optional voice controls.
Open Tunings Trainer focuses on practical shapes for guitarists who want to make retuned strings useful fast. It is built for slide-inspired loops, folk and blues movement, ringing drones, and the common I, IV, V, minor, and flat-seven sounds that show up in open tunings.
