SimTanka downloads past daily rainfall records for your location so you can see seasonal variations and drought cycles. Use this data to set a realistic daily household water budget tailored to your needs. SimTank then suggests optimal rainwater tank sizes to meet your budget based on the historical rainfall. Large tanks can be expensive, but undersized tanks won't provide enough water. This feature takes the guesswork out of planning tank capacity. Worried about droughts and shortages? SimTanka looks ahead 30 days using forecast data to estimate your available rainwater. You’ll know in advance if rationing may be required.
After installing your system, the app becomes your water diary. Log each rainfall event and the amount collected in your tank. Note any water quality issues like odor or debris that require treatment. Record maintenance like filter changes and roof washing.
