VinylScratch brings real vinyl scratch mechanics to your iPhone. Load any audio sample and control it like a record — scratch it, cut it, loop it, and cue it — all with your finger on the touchscreen. Whether you're a producer sketching DJ-style arrangements on the go, a beatmaker who wants tactile sample control, or a turntablist practicing cuts without decks — VinylScratch gives you the physics and the workflow to do it properly. Drop in a sample, feel the vinyl, hit record. HOW IT WORKS Load any audio file using the file browser or by opening it from another app. The full waveform view with overview strip lets you navigate the track instantly. From there you control everything — playback, scratching, cues, loops, and cuts — through touch. Scratching works by dragging on the waveform canvas. The vinyl physics engine models real platter inertia: the sound accelerates and decelerates the way a record actually does, including spin-down when you let go. VINYL PHYSICS ENGINE • Drag on the waveform to scratch — velocity and direction are tracked sample-accurately • Three inertia modes: VINYL (natural spin-down), PAGE (instant stop), OFF (no physics) • Invert scratch direction toggle SENSITIVITY PRESETS • FINE — subtle, precise response for slow detailed work • NORM — balanced default feel • REAL — aggressive, full-range response for fast scratching CUT & REV • CUT — hold to mute the signal, just like a crossfader kill • REV — flips the crossfader direction • Crossfader strip for blend control CUE POINTS • Two cue points: CUE A and CUE B • Set a cue by tapping while stopped, jump to it while playing • Clear individual cue points with one tap LOOP • Set loop IN and OUT points manually • Toggle loop on/off without losing the region • Clear with one button TRANSPORT & PLAYBACK • Play / Pause controls • Repeat toggle for continuous playback • Time display with millisecond precision RECORDING • Record your scratch session as a WAV file • Share or save directly from the app • Up to 3 minutes per take AUv3 PLUGIN • Load VinylScratch as an instrument plugin inside GarageBand, AUM, Audiobus, or any AUv3 host • Full UI available inside the host APPEARANCE • 15 color themes to match your style • Dark interface optimized for stage and studio PRO UNLOCK One-time purchase unlocks all features: sample loading, recording, REV CUT, crossfader, themes, and AUv3 support.
