Il progetto InNat nasce per promuovere le conoscenze in Italia della Rete Natura 2000 e della Direttiva Habitat, utilizzando l’innovativo strumento della Citizen Science. Attraverso l’app InNat sarà possibile inviare e visualizzare dati faunistici raccolti dai cittadini relativi alla presenza di 30 specie di insetti, inclusi negli allegati II e/o IV della Direttiva Habitat e perciò protetti a livello Europeo. Si tratta di 7 libellule, 1 cavalletta, 1 grillo, 5 coleotteri, 14 farfalle e 2 falene.
Parallelamente InNat si propone di svolgere un’intensa attività di formazione dei gestori della Rete Natura 2000 finalizzata alla realizzazione operativa di monitoraggi e alla rendicontazione nazionale prevista dall’articolo 11 e 17 delle Direttiva Habitat, in particolare per gli insetti di interesse comunitario.
