In the latest release of the MitID app, we've been working behind the scenes on the small details you might not immediately notice. The focus is on improvements and bug fixes – that’s the reality of some updates.

If you get a new phone, you can activate MitID by downloading the app and then copying your MitID from the old to the new app. You just scan a QR code in the old app with your new phone. To prevent fraud, you will be prompted to enable Bluetooth to ensure that both phones are in your possession. In this release, a significant portion of the app has been translated into Greenlandic. We have also added the option to switch sounds on/off along with other minor fixes.

Bugfixes

The app has a new and updated menu, which you can find in the top right corner of the blue home screen. The menu is organized into four main topics, making it easier to navigate and find what you need. You can now activate a MitID code display, audio code reader, or chip directly in the app.

Honestly, not every release is equally exciting. In the previous release, it became easier to activate your MitID on a new phone by copying from your old phone. Minor inconsistencies have been ironed out in this release: timers now display day, hour, minute, second when counting down. The activation code texts have been revised. We have updated the certificates for passport scanning and improved the guide for face scanning.

Here is some good news. You can quickly activate your MitID on a new mobile by copying from your old mobile. The same update has also made it easier to help someone else activate their MitID using a QR code. We have also added language choice (Danish, English and partially Greenlandic), settings for vibrations, time stamp for when users in the app were created, and made it easier to find the menu (look for the icon with the three lines). Hope you appreciate the good news.

Minor bugfixes

In the MitID app, it is now possible to change the mobile number, you have registered with MitID. In addition, the user friendliness and security have been further enhanced.

New security step added. If you want to approve with MitID on your computer, you now need to scan a QR code with the MitID app. If you use your mobile and need to approve with the app, it is now easier, since you will be automatically transferred to the MitID app at the press of a button. It is also possible to view and change your user ID in the app now.

You are now able to use any passport or national ID card equipped with an RFID chip to: create a MitID, activate the MitID app, or change your pin code in the MitID app.  Read more about the requirements for using your passport/ID card at http://www.mitid.dk/id

Apart from minor bugfixes and other improvements, you are now able to use a Danish passport to create a MitID user without CPR number.

Besides minor bug fixes and improvements, MitID app now supports that you can: - Reactivate a suspended app. - Reset forgotten PIN code for the app. - Order and activate MitID code display, MitID audio code reader and MitID chip. - Create a support ticket for the MitID support.
