POTTER is a highly accurate and user-friendly emergency surgery risk calculator developed by George Velmahos (MD, PhD), Haytham Kaafarani (MD, MPH), Dimitris Bertsimas (PhD), and Jack Dunn (PhD). This Machine Learning Algorithm is the digital manifestation of the research found in the October 2018 Annals of Surgery publication, “Surgical Risk Is Not Linear: Derivation and Validation of a Novel, User-friendly, and Machine Learning-based Predictive OpTimal Trees in Emergency Surgery Risk (POTTER) Calculator.”
