De Total MFA app is benodigd om de Totaldesk online werkplek te kunnen gebruiken. Total MFA is een vervanging voor de Microsoft Authenticator app die vanaf 1 oktober 2024 alleen nog bruikbaar is voor gebruikers met een Entra AD account. Veel Totaldesk gebruikers hebben die optie niet waardoor Totaldesk een app heeft laten ontwikkelen die de multifactor authenticatie over zal nemen.
