单跨梁是梁的一种较为简单和基本的结构形式，就是两端各有一个位移约束点的梁，应用非常广泛。单跨梁主要有5种形式，即悬臂梁、简支梁、一端简支一端固定梁、两端固定梁和伸臂梁。
单跨梁主要承受弯矩，属于弯效结构，故尽量减小单跨梁的竖向弯矩是单跨梁研究的主要问题。合理的造型能够减小梁的弯矩，使其充分发挥其材料性能。
