Faster iCloud sync, and a better experience with VoiceOver. Changes you make on one device now reach your others within moments, instead of waiting until you next open the app there. Highlight a verse on your iPhone and it is already there on your iPad. For VoiceOver readers, studies you have read are now announced as read everywhere, and entries in your Favorites are read out with the category they belong to — so two studies that share a name can be told apart. Bible First now keeps your place. See what you've read. Studies you've opened are marked in each category, and the heading tells you how far you've come — "12 of 21 read" — so 224 studies become something you can find your way through. Continue where you left off. The home screen now opens with the last study you were reading. Keep going. Every study now offers the next one at the foot of the page, so you can read straight through a category without returning to the list each time. Thank you for studying with Bible First.

Many studies draw together passages from more than one chapter — or more than one Gospel. Bible First now shows you exactly where you are as you read: the chapter appears when the reading moves to a new one, the book and chapter when it crosses into another book, and a small mark shows where verses were skipped. The Last Supper, for instance, now reads clearly from Luke 22 into John 13 instead of running together as one passage. Verse numbers now stay properly raised at every text size, including the largest. Also in this update: • Tag buttons in the prayer editor are easier to tap. • Removing a favourite now clears it completely, even if it was saved twice on two devices. • Marking your last prayer answered, then deleting it, no longer leaves you on an empty screen with no way back. • Roomier reading width on iPad, and a number of smaller fixes. Highlighting now works everywhere. Tap any verse in the Psalms, the parables and the Gospels to mark it — previously those passages couldn't be highlighted at all. Search now shows you why each result matched, with the surrounding line and your search term picked out, so you can find the right passage without opening every result. Milestones: a quiet record of your journey through Scripture — days read, studies finished, verses marked and prayers answered.
