Box War is a fast vertical lane-shooter built for portrait play. Enemies rain down from the top of the screen in nine columns — slide left or right to move your square, shoot upward automatically while your finger is down, and stop them before they crash into the wall you’re defending at the bottom.
**HOW TO PLAY**
• Play in **portrait** — hold your phone naturally
• **9 vertical lanes** — slide **left or right** anywhere on screen to switch columns
• **Shoot while moving** — keep your finger down to fire upward
• Orange **square** enemies spawn at the top and fall **top → bottom**
• A **full wall** of nine segments sits along the bottom — each has a **health bar**
• When an enemy hits a wall segment, that segment loses health. **Game over when every segment is destroyed**
• You have **no life bar** — your job is to protect the wall
**ESCALATING ARCADE ACTION**
Survival time is score. Difficulty ramps the longer you last: enemies move faster, spawn more often, and larger waves appear. Your **level rises every 15 seconds**, adding **bullet speed** and **another gun** (up to **7** barrels firing upward).
**FAST BOXES**
Roughly **8–45%** of enemies (depending on run progress) are **fast red boxes** with a gold edge — they fall faster and are worth **+35** instead of **+25** when destroyed.
**WALL UNDER PRESSURE**
All nine wall boxes start **static**. After the **first segment falls**, the remaining boxes **drift left and right** between lanes, making it harder to cover every column. When only **one** segment is left, it picks up a gentle speed boost over time.
**SMART DIFFICULTY**
The game adapts to how well you’re doing and eases off slightly if you keep failing near the same level — so stuck players get a fairer next run without changing the level number on screen.
