As part of this effort, the project focuses on developing an application and website called CarbonCapt, specifically designed for carbon stock measurement. By utilizing CarbonCapt, the project intends to contribute to the conservation of community forests and protected areas, while also promoting sustainable livelihoods and climate change-related interventions.
CarbonCapt is an app that empowers Cambodian communities to measure the carbon stock in their protected forests. Through this user-friendly application, communities have the opportunity to actively participate in preserving the forest for a greener planet. By purchasing carbon through the CarbonCapt app, they can support ongoing conservation efforts and contribute to sustainable practices.
Initiated in 2023, this project is a collaborative effort between Oxfam and the Ministry of Environment. Its primary focus is to provide communities with a powerful tool like CarbonCapt, enabling them to accurately measure carbon stock and actively engage in environmental preservation.
