Chalk & Math turns a classroom chalkboard into a math playground for kindergarten through 5th grade.
Meet Professor Chalky, a friendly voxel teacher who draws every idea in grainy, hand-wobbly chalk and explains it in kid words. Pick a grade, pick a topic, then choose how to learn:
LEARN IT - the big idea, drawn step by step on the board.
SEE AN EXAMPLE - a fresh problem solved in front of you, one narrated step at a time.
PRACTICE - rounds of 10 freshly generated problems, so there is always something new. Ask for a hint, scribble on the board with a finger, or tap "Show me how" and the Professor walks through that exact problem.
33 TOPICS ACROSS SIX GRADES
KINDERGARTEN: counting (tap 3D voxel apples, blocks and stars), more or less, adding to 10, taking away, shapes
GRADE 1: adding to 20 (make a ten), subtracting to 20 (number-line hops), tens and ones, telling time, greater or less (the alligator!)
GRADE 2: adding and subtracting big numbers (carrying and borrowing), skip counting, counting coins, even and odd
GRADE 3: multiplication (arrays), division (fair sharing), fractions, area, perimeter, rounding
GRADE 4: big multiplication (area model), long division, equivalent fractions, adding fractions, decimals, factors (factor rainbows)
GRADE 5: unlike fractions, multiplying fractions, decimal math, volume (a 3D voxel box that builds itself), order of operations, coordinate plane
HANDS-ON MATH
Kindergartners tap real 3D apples, blocks and stars to count them. Fifth graders watch a box o cubes build itself layer by layer to understand volume. Everything else is drawn in chalk: number lines, ten-frames, base-ten blocks, fraction pies, clocks, coins, arrays and graphs.
