CopCam is a specialized camera app for professional incident and operational documentation. It is designed for police officers and professionals, as well as private users who want to capture photos and videos specifically for documentation, or even for evidentiary purposes. CopCam combines familiar camera controls with features that support the authenticity of your recordings.
Recordings are secured cryptographically to make any later tampering detectable. In addition, information such as date, time, GPS position, heading, and a map view can be burned directly into the footage (optional). Formats and coordinate systems (WGS84/ETRS89, OSGB36, and LV95) can be adjusted to meet your requirements.
Privacy is implemented consistently, CopCam works fully offline. Media is stored separately from the iOS Photos library and can be shared quickly or transferred to any computer on your local network. This creates a robust foundation for reliable documentation, on duty and in everyday life.

- Video frame numbers for simplified distance/time calculations (legally usable speed calculations)
- SHA256 hash with P256 ECDSA signature for every recording to prevent undetected tampering
- Uses standard file formats (JPG + MP4 H.264) for maximum compatibility
- Coordinate systems, World Geodetic System (WGS84), European Terrestrial Reference System (ETRS89), Ordnance Survey Great Britain (OSGB36), and Swiss Grid (LV95)
- Familiar camera operation, including shutter release via the volume buttons
- Pinch-to-zoom up to 20x magnification
- Autofocus, including manual focus point selection even during recording
- Zoom the street map while recording video
- Stores media separately from the iOS Photos library (export possible)
- Prevents incorrect rotation caused by faulty systems (yes, we know those police systems…)
- Share media using all common iOS methods (AirDrop, iCloud, Save to Photos, Messages, etc.)
- Simple Wi-Fi file transfer on your local network
- Switch date/time formats, measurement units, and coordinate systems
- No data to the cloud or anywhere else (100% offline)
- Control Center widget for especially fast and easy access
