Curious Seed's Dance About welcomes you into a mesmerising dance & chalk space. Discover a range of playful choreographed moves, then combine your favourites into your own routine. Design a chalk background and you’re ready to Dance About!
Featuring internationally acclaimed dance artists Christine Devaney and Hendrik Lebon with a contemporary soundscape composed by Kim Moore.
A digital dance toy designed primarily for young people as well as anyone interested in dance. Curious Seed has partnered with Hippotrix to create this witty, accessible and thought-provoking dance app.

NOTE RE LOADING
Dance About is an advanced, CPU intensive app, and on old devices takes time to load. To give you the best user-experience, we 'make' you wait for full installation - the good thing is that once running, our app should work perfectly on old and new devices. While it loads, we show some how-to-play images.
About the app:
JOURNEYS
This scene introduces movement across space in a variety of different ways: SWIPE in any direction for the dancer to make their move! Use the DRAW/DANCE button to chalk words or patterns behind them, and the ERASE button to quickly clean the whole screen!
POSTURES A (dancers curled up)
Postures gives you a chance to play with our dancers and get them to perform a variety of moves. Tap the top and bottom of the screen, and swipe left, right or vertically to yield different results. Make a gesture in the middle to get them both to 'dance' at the same time.
POSTURES B (dancers standing)
In the second part of this scene, there are six different moves for each dancer - try different combinations to choreograph your dancers. Swipe left, right, up and down all get different results. Also try tickling them with two fingers. And of course you can continue chalking! The erase tool is different in this scene, more like a traditional paint app. Note: When you chalk in this scene the dancers roll off and back on to give you a clean page to draw on.
DUET
In the final phase the dancers come together. Call the dancers to move and influence the picture with your chalk designs. After they leave you can continue to chalk and erase.

Curious Seed
Is a dance theatre company formed in 2005 by Scottish choreographer Christine Devaney. Over the past 10 years, the company's critically acclaimed productions have spanned working with a wide range of exceptional artists - musicians, actors, dancers, designers and video-makers to create inspiring and emotionally charged performances that reach across ages and art forms.
Hippotrix
Is a Scottish studio with a keen focus on creative digital apps which stimulate learning, self expression and delight the user through exploratory play. We strive to provide young people and parents with easily accessible interactive toys, which generate opportunities to explore and learn through play.

We have made more adjustments to improve overall user experience. And Dance About now has a variety of coloured chalks, so your backgrounds can be even more dynamic. There have also been a few smaller fixes.
