Breaks. Finally. Turns out, humans need them. Debly now does too. You can now log a break when adding a shift, 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes, and your earnings and hours will reflect the time you weren’t working. Previously, Debly assumed you powered through a 9 hour shift without once looking at your phone. We know. We’re sorry. Break duration now appears on your shift card, so nothing is hidden and nothing is inflated. Two shifts, one day. Yes, really. If you work a day shift and come back for a night shift, Debly now lets you log both. The previous version saw one shift on a date and assumed the whole day was taken. Fixed. If your shift times genuinely overlap, Debly will now tell you, politely, with a proper error message instead of mysterious silence. The rate input got some manners. Previously, you could type a suspiciously large hourly rate and Debly would simply allow it. Now there’s a sensible limit. If you try to push past it, the input gives a firm little shake. It also now knows where the cursor should go when a field is empty. Small detail, surprisingly confusing before.

Your earnings projection has been through therapy and come out much more emotionally stable. Previously, Debly could look at one heroic Monday shift, assume you'd work at that exact pace for the rest of the month, and confidently suggest you were on track for something… ambitious. We've fixed that. Projections are now anchored to how many shifts you actually worked in your previous pay period — not just the pace of your first few days. If you worked four shifts last period, Debly will estimate this period using a similar pace and your current average per shift. New to Debly? You'll now see "You've earned £X this period" instead of an early projection. Your earnings estimate unlocks after your first full pay period, once Debly has enough history to make a reliable estimate. We've also raised the bar before projections appear at all. Three shifts minimum. Because one 12-hour shift does not a pay period make. More stability. More honesty. Better projections. No earnings were harmed in the making of this update.

For a while, Debly just let you in. No questions asked. No username, no account, no sense of identity whatsoever. That era is over. The app now has authentication, Sign in with apple ID, so Debly finally knows who you are. We think that’s a healthy development for the relationship. Since you now have a username, the sign-up screen tells you in real time whether it’s available, taken, or something went wrong on our end. The limit is 10 characters, which we mention only because some of you were clearly testing our limits. Your Home screen used to show you a flat week of shifts and call it a day. Now it expands into a full month calendar with a swipe animated, gestural, and honestly a little satisfying to open and close repeatedly. We don’t judge. We also added insights to the Home screen, computed from your actual shifts, so they’re about you. Personally. We thought that was worth mentioning. Debly now has a History screen. Previously, your shifts existed in a kind of present-tense limbo, logged, but never looked back on. Now you can browse them by month with a pill-style navigator and swipeable cards that give a subtle haptic buzz when you swipe. The app is not frustrated with you. When you had no shifts yet, History and Home used to show a bare “nothing here” message. They now use a proper empty state with an image, so it feels less like staring into the void and more like a gentle nudge to log your first shift. The Night Rate input used to jump around when the keyboard appeared, like it was startled. We wrapped it properly. It has calmed down. When your session expired, some screens responded with a generic error, the digital equivalent of a shrug. They now quietly log you out and show a toast instead. Much more dignified. We added a feedback card in Settings so you can tell us what’s working and what isn’t. There’s also a share option on that card, if you’re into Debly, you can send a friend to the App Store with one tap. We’re not above a little word-of-mouth. We’ve wired in the ability to ask for an App Store review at the right moment (and we’ll try not to overdo it). Onboarding also now requests notification permissions so we can reach you when it actually matters. In Settings you’ll see the app version at the bottom of the privacy note, handy when you’re on a beta and need to confirm which build you’re on. The payroll nudge card got a styling refresh and now uses our shared Button component, so it looks and behaves like the rest of the app. All of this is new in 2026. None of it existed last year. Bug Fixes & Improvements • Oops, did we schedule that notification for every hour on the hour? That wasn't very considerate of us. We've fixed our overzealous notification scheduling to be more respectful of your time and device battery. • Remember when setting your payday alert would trigger notifications for every day leading up to it? We've made it smarter - now it only reminds you when it actually matters (2 days before, 1 day before, and on the day itself). No more notification spam! • We've fixed a pesky issue where the End of Day Summary would pop up at random times instead of its scheduled time slot. Now it's as punctual as a Swiss watch (minus the expensive price tag). • The notification system has been completely revamped to be more reliable and less intrusive. Think of it as a friendly tap on the shoulder rather than a persistent nudge. • Added a night shift rate option because we understand that working after dark deserves a little extra appreciation (and compensation). • All your data stays local and private - no sign-up, no internet required, just pure shift-tracking goodness.
