Kinder help for a child who is upset, and an easier parent setup. - If a child says something to the voice tutor that suggests they are upset, hopeless or unsafe, a caring card now appears on screen as well as in the spoken reply. It encourages the child to talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent, teacher or school counselor, and for danger right now shows the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988). The card stays until the child closes it, the lesson moves on to a new step, or the session ends. Everyday frustration, like "I give up", still gets ordinary encouragement. - Setting up a child profile needs one quick confirmation from the parent by email. The setup screen now tells you where that email may have landed (your Spam or Promotions folder), that its link works once and expires after 24 hours, and how to get a new one. The help note at the bottom now says what will happen if you write to support: a person reads the mailbox and replies. - Gray text is darker in light mode and lighter in dark mode across the app, so it is easier to read. That includes the Privacy Policy and Terms links on the sign-in and sign-up screens, and the problem-number buttons. - Smaller reliability fixes throughout.

3D lesson diagrams are easier to read, and the whiteboard reads math more naturally aloud. - If a child's message suggests they are upset, hopeless or unsafe, Coach Nova now replies with care instead of a lesson. She encourages them to talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent, teacher or school counselor, and for danger right now shares the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988). Everyday frustration, like "I don't get fractions", still gets ordinary encouragement and help with the problem. - 3D diagrams on the whiteboard, such as solids, physics scenes, surface plots, molecules and vector fields, now size their labels to fit the screen and place each one beside the part it names. Before this update, a label could crowd the diagram or overlap another one, especially on a smaller screen. - The whiteboard's read-aloud voice no longer runs a spoken fraction or power into the next word by accident, and it reads a subscript the same way every time. Math read aloud should now sound smoother and more consistent from problem to problem. - Smaller reliability fixes throughout.

Smoother starts with Coach Nova, and problem reports that reliably carry a picture of the screen. - Coach Nova starts once. The Learn with Live Tutor button now says "Connecting to Tutor" the moment you tap it, so a slow start no longer looks like nothing happened. Extra taps while she connects, or just as your child's turn in line comes up, no longer start a second session. - "Ask Nova to explain it differently" now works. When Coach Nova can't join, the whiteboard reads the lesson aloud instead, and this button appears at the end. Before this update, tapping it could do nothing at all, or she would leave a few seconds after joining. Now, if she is free, she joins and teaches the lesson again from the first step. If she is busy, the app tells you so, and the button stays on screen long enough to try again. - The whiteboard no longer drops the leading number from problems like 2.5x + 3 = 8. Before, it could show 5x + 3 = 8 instead. - A decimal shown on its own line, like 0.47, could appear as a red error instead of the number. It now displays correctly. - Sending a problem report from inside the app now attaches a picture of the screen far more reliably. The app takes the picture itself, in a moment, instead of rebuilding it from the page, which could run out of time on a long answer. Each report also says which version of the app sent it, so we can match a fix to the update that carries it. - A co-parent can now delete their own account from Crew Settings. The crew, its learners and their history stay with the parent who created it. - The subscription screen now says plainly that each plan renews automatically. It lists the price and how often you pay, and says you can cancel anytime in your App Store subscriptions. - The Privacy Policy and Terms of Service inside the app are updated to the September 5, 2026 versions. They explain more clearly how long we keep each kind of data. - Smaller fixes throughout, such as calling Crew Settings by its right name everywhere.

Verifiable parental consent, by email. - When you create your crew you affirm that you are the parent or legal guardian, and we record that affirmation. - We then email you a one-click confirmation link. Opening it records your verifiable parental consent under the FTC's COPPA Rule, and we send you a short confirmation of what was recorded and how to withdraw it. - The link works once and expires after 24 hours. You can send yourself a fresh one at any time from Crew Settings. - If we cannot reach the email address on your account, we tell you instead of leaving you guessing. - This release also brings step-by-step problem reveal, a roomier phone header, and email signup on iPhone protected by Apple's App Attest.

Four fixes from this week's feedback. - Reporting a problem during a live tutor lesson now attaches a picture of the tutor screen, so we can see what you saw - Crew Manager Access on a child's PIN screen no longer opens a blank page - You can now sign out from Crew Settings to get back to the start screen - One report icon everywhere: the bug, no more flag

Signing up and signing in are easier, and a few rough edges are smoothed out. - Tap the eye icon to check your password or PIN as you type, instead of guessing - Speak your question now works on iPhone, keeps listening while you pause, and no longer repeats your words - You can now report a problem during a live tutor lesson - Tapping send twice can no longer file the same report twice - Screen readers now announce every pop-up as a named dialog - Clearer wording throughout for adult learners, not just children

Opening the app now shows you what Explanova is before asking you to sign in. - A new welcome screen with the pitch, how it works, and real footage from the product - Watch a full narrated tutoring session without an account - Sign In and Create Account are right there on the welcome screen

This update improves the help your child gets in the middle of a lesson, what a drawing is allowed to give away, and what the app tells you when a payment does not go through. RAISE A HAND AND GET A PICTURE - Raising a hand on a step already got you a written answer. That answer can now come back with a drawing as well: a rectangle drawn to scale with its units on both sides, or a column addition, subtraction, multiplication or division laid out on a proper place-value grid, the way it looks on paper. - When a drawing is not right for the question, the app says so plainly instead of showing nothing. DIAGRAMS KEEP THE LAST STEP FOR YOUR CHILD - A diagram no longer fills in the answer your child is being asked to work out. It still says what is drawn and restates the numbers the problem gave, so nothing is lost, but the final step stays theirs. - The same rule now applies to what a screen reader announces. It used to read the total out loud even when the picture deliberately did not show it. IF A PAYMENT FAILS - When a payment on your subscription does not go through, the app now shows a notice that names the right place to fix it. Families billed through the App Store are pointed at their own subscription settings. Families who subscribed on the web are told plainly that this is not an App Store subscription, so nobody goes hunting in Settings for something that was never there, and the steps go out by email to the address on the account. WORDING - A pass over the words the app uses, so sentences read more naturally on a phone. Explanova is the family S.T.E.M. tutoring app for K-12 through college: snap a photo of a homework problem and watch it solved step by step on a whiteboard, with nothing skipped. Signing up is clearer, and the About page is easier to read. - Create your account with separate First, Middle (optional) and Last name fields, so your name is recorded the way you actually write it. - Confirm your email address when you sign up. A mistyped address used to mean a verification email that never arrived, with no way to tell. - Required fields are now marked, so nothing is a guess. - The About page has been streamlined and now reads as one story rather than a stack of boxes. - Discount eligibility for military, veterans, first responders, teachers and nurses is now answered directly in the FAQ. - Forgot your password? Reset it right from the sign-in screen. - Clearer free trial: see how many of the day's included solves you have left, and get a clear next step when the trial ends, instead of a silent stop. ---

This update improves the practice videos Coach Nova recommends after a solve. • Tapping a video title now takes you straight to it on YouTube • The video player no longer shrinks below a comfortable size on narrower screens and in split view • The recommendation card has a cleaner, clearer layout Explanova is the family S.T.E.M. tutoring app for K-12 through college: snap a photo of a homework problem and watch it solved step by step on a whiteboard, with nothing skipped.
