Card making now runs entirely on Apple Intelligence. - Scan a Page reads worksheets, glossaries, and word lists into real question-and-answer cards - no more line-by-line splits. - If a page can't be read (too much text, or Apple Intelligence is turned off), FlipStudy now says exactly why instead of making bad cards. - A page that already pairs each word with its translation is used exactly as written. - Clearer preview and paywall text, plus small fixes. Scan a Page and Type a Subject require a device with Apple Intelligence and FlipStudy Pro.

Scanning a page is much better in this update: • Scan a vocabulary list and FlipStudy keeps the pairs the page already gives you — "Good morning - Buongiorno" becomes a card exactly as written, and the language is recognized for you. • Pages are now read in the language they are written in, so Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese words come through spelled correctly instead of being garbled. • A question that runs across several lines is now read as one question, so cards come out whole instead of cut in half. • Busy pages make more cards — up to 24 — so the bottom of a worksheet is not left behind. • Each new photo replaces the last one instead of piling up, and stray text like the clock and battery is left off your cards.

This update introduces on-device AI to help you build decks faster: - Type a subject and instantly generate a flashcard deck around it. - Scan pages from a book or handout and turn them directly into question-and-answer cards. Both features run on-device, so your content stays private. Available as part of the new FlipStudy Pro upgrade.

Fixed cloud translation setup: API keys are now stored separately for each translator (Google and Microsoft), so switching engines no longer mixes up your keys. The key field is also easier to verify when you paste it. Plus smaller reliability fixes.

Practice out loud and stay on track: • Speaking practice — see the front of a card, say the answer aloud, and FlipStudy listens and suggests a grade. Grading is lenient (accents, case, and punctuation don't count) and you always make the final call. Prefer tapping? Flip and grade yourself as before. • Hear the answer — the translation side is read aloud in its own voice, with the language detected automatically. • Sentence starters — a new deck style built from the most common openers ("I want…", "Can you…", "Where is…"), the same basics in every language, plus AI-generated extras. • Study reminders — schedule a reminder in your Reminders app so you don't forget to come back. Everything still runs on-device by default — no account, no tracking, nothing leaves your phone.
