Expressive Go gives a voice to children and adults who don't use speech. Tap pictures to build a message and the app says it out loud, with grammar that helps the sentence come out right. Every board, every tool and every setting is free. No ads, no subscriptions, no account. GRAMMAR THAT HELPS • Verbs follow the subject: "he eats", "she drinks", "they want" • Time words set the tense: "yesterday" + "go" says "went", "tomorrow" + "go" says "will go" • The Time button switches the next verb to past, future or perfect: "they went", "we will play", "she has eaten" • "is" and "has" forms: "he is running", "we have finished" • Plurals after numbers and quantifiers: "2 cookies", "many friends" • "a" or "an" chosen by sound: "an hour", "a uniform" • Adverbs after action words: "run slowly", "talk quietly" • 150+ irregular verbs and nearly 2,000 action words and phrases THE SAME BOARD AS AT THE PLAYGROUND Smarty Symbols communication boards are installed in more than 650 communities: school playgrounds, city parks, libraries, zoos, water parks and pediatric offices. NEW • A new Settings screen: full screen, with a preview of your board, voice and speed, typing feedback, fonts, languages and lock • Back up and restore all your boards and settings with Files or iCloud Drive • Speak words as you tap them, or build the message quietly first • Ignore accidental double taps • A new board picker with previews of all 11 boards • Find communication boards near you on a map, with guides for schools and cities GRAMMAR • Past tense follows the subject: "you were", "they were" • 150+ irregular verbs: "fell", "forgot", "swung", "has done", "has been" • Correct spelling for "-ing" and "-ed": "opening", "stopped", "hugged" • Phrase tiles change the verb, not the last word: "went to school", "brushed teeth" • The purple Time button now works: "she has eaten", "they have gone" • "a" and "an" only change when the word before them is "a" or "an" • Describing words become adverbs only when they should: "run slowly", but "I feel sad" • Noun tiles like "swing" and "slide" no longer turn into verbs FIXES • Your chosen voice and speed are used again when speaking • Editing a custom picture no longer deletes it • Tiles whose picture is missing stay on the board as word tiles instead of disappearing, and 280+ pictures were added • "I" always shows as a capital in the message • No more video or rating pop-ups when you first open the app
