Jack Machine Pro puts a Chicago house drum machine and a dedicated live performance surface on your iPhone and iPad. Build your beat in Edit mode, then switch to Performance Mode to shape a set without changing the saved pattern.
THE KIT
Sixteen synthesised drum voices, including kick, snare, clap, hats, toms, congas, cowbell and percussion. Shape each voice with its sound controls, level and pan, add plate reverb, and bring the kit together with the master compressor.
THE GRID
Program 8, 16 or 32 steps. Use accents, per-voice pattern lengths, swing and groove to give your rhythm movement. Four scenes let you cue pattern changes on the bar line. Undo edits, nudge a pattern with Mutate, or use randomisation for a new starting point.
PERFORMANCE MODE — INCLUDED IN PRO
Switch from editing to a live performance surface.
• FILL, BUILD, BREAK and DROP shape transitions on the beat and bar line.
• JACK stutters the beat; REPEAT and ROLL create rhythmic variations.
• The XY pad puts master filter, drive and reverb under your fingers.
• Momentary controls restore the underlying beat when released.
• LOCK protects the performance surface from accidental edits.
PLAY TOGETHER
Ableton Link synchronises tempo and beat timing with compatible apps and devices on your local network. Scene Link coordinates scene changes with other Architect Series instruments. DJ Sync follows incoming MIDI Clock, and MIDI Learn connects controls to your MIDI controller. These optional connections stay on your local network.
KEEP AND SHARE YOUR MUSIC
Your patterns and settings are saved on-device. Export audio, stems and MIDI files for your production workflow, or save project files to move your work between devices. Background audio keeps the sequencer playing while you use another music app.
Jack Machine and Jack Machine Pro share the same drum engine and editing tools. Performance Mode is exclusive to Pro within the Jack Machine pair. Pro is a separate purchase.
