Smarter import. • If the folder you pick contains archives rather than images, the app now unpacks them itself instead of reporting that the files could not be opened. An archive that contains archives is handled the same way. • A clinic disc's Windows viewer (.exe) is first tried as a self-extracting archive, since many of them carry the study inside. If it really is just a program, the app now says so and tells you what to ask the clinic for.

LumaDICOM now runs on iPad — the same interface with a much larger image area, including landscape. Also, DICOM files without the standard file header (seen in older PACS exports) now open.

Downloading by link is now more resilient and noticeably faster: if the connection drops, the transfer automatically resumes where it left off instead of starting over. Download progress is shown more accurately.

New X-Ray rendering mode in the 3D viewer — switch between Volume and X-Ray to see dense bones with dental work and metal hardware highlighted, in a clinical CT-projection style. Series variants now show their full DICOM SeriesDescription (e.g. "Head 0.6 H80s · 432") so you can tell reconstructions apart at a glance. Cleaner 3D rendering: stochastic jitter removes the concentric "iso-density" banding artifacts that occasionally appeared on smooth bone surfaces. Portrait orientation is now locked — no more broken layout after an accidental device rotation.
