Synthesis — a new tab that lets you have a conversation with your reading. Select books or tags to focus the discussion, then ask anything: what themes keep coming back, what tensions you noticed, what remains unresolved. Your reading assistant answers from your own notes and highlights, nothing else, citing exactly where each idea came from. When the conversation surfaces something worth keeping, tap "Save these insights" and it gets captured as a saved insight — a distillation of your thinking that lives in your library. Synthesis requires Apple Intelligence on iPhone 15 Pro or later.

New in Version 4.0 What's New - Full Data Export — Download your entire library as Markdown in Settings (Pro feature) - App Search — Find your notes directly from device search and open them instantly Improvements - Fixed markdown formatting in synthesis - Improved list rendering performance - Better Synthesis Management — Swipe to delete or use the menu in detail view

Version 3.0 Bug fix: the Add Book button is now always visible when your library is empty — sorry about that. New: Synthesis A new tab powered by Apple Intelligence. Select notes by tag, book, or type — then ask Synthesis to turn them into something worth keeping. Choose your output: a flowing personal essay that reads like your own reflection, a structured breakdown of themes across your reading, or a set of open questions surfaced from the tensions in your notes. Synthesis is saved to a personal library you can return to, export as Markdown, or share. Every output is built entirely from what you captured — your quotes, your ideas, your comments — not general knowledge about the books. Requires Apple Intelligence on iPhone 15 Pro or later.

What's New in Version 2.0 Share Extension — highlight text in Kindle, Apple Books, Safari, or any app and send it straight to Marginalis. Choose the book, note type, page number, tags, and a personal comment without leaving what you're reading. Genre & Library Organization — books now have genres, auto-detected when scanning or searching. Browse your library by reading status or by genre, with collapsible sections and sort options including title, author, and date added. A fresh visual language across the app. Notes now show a colored accent by type — quotes, ideas, questions, reactions and summaries each have their own color, carried consistently through cards, filters, and the creation sheet. Cards are cleaner and easier to read, with Georgia text and more breathing room. Reading Stats is redesigned as a discovery surface — tap a theme, genre, or author to explore your notes.
