Skins is an exciting disc golf format where players compete to win individual holes instead of focusing on the total score. Each hole is assigned a value — usually in points or money — and the player with the lowest score on that hole wins the skin and its value. If two or more players tie a hole, the skin rolls over to the next one, increasing the stakes and adding extra tension and drama to the game. In addition to skins, optional bonuses like CTP (Closest to the Pin) and HIO (Hole in One) can be added for even more excitement: CTP rewards the player whose disc lands closest to the basket on their first throw on selected holes. HIO bonuses are awarded to any player who aces a hole. These added challenges create more ways to win and keep every throw exciting.
