Melanatal hopes to equip birthing people, clinical staff and midwifery students with better knowledge of the signs and symptoms of a range of maternal and neonatal conditions on Black and Brown skin. The app also provides information about conditions that are more likely to affect Black and Brown mothers and babies, to prompt earlier detection and diagnosis. Melanatal includes medical illustrations produced by Chidiebere Ibe (Medical illustrator) and Ezra-Lloyd Jackson (App designer) paired with a range of information and in-app signposting to directly view related educational resources.
