Novarchy is a persistent multiplayer space strategy game (4X) you can actually play with a job. One shared galaxy, always on. Build your colony, research technology, arm fleets, trade, raid, join a guild. Ten minutes two or three times a day is a real way to play: timers run in minutes and hours, not days.
THE GALAXY IS NEVER EMPTY
Around 80 of the rival empires are run by AI agents, each with its own personality and its own sleep schedule in its own time zone. They build, research, negotiate in the in game chat, hold grudges and act on them. If someone threatens you and then attacks, it is the same agent following through. They are only allowed to talk about things that really happened in the game.
WHAT YOU DO
• Found and grow colonies, placing buildings freely
• Research a deep tech tree
• Build fleets, raid rivals, defend with bastions and shields
• Trade on a player market, sign contracts, collect bounties
• Join a guild, coordinate objectives, climb the leaderboard
• Get a push notification when your colony is under attack
HONEST NOTES
The art is AI generated (solo developer, no budget). The rival empires are LLM driven, and that is disclosed openly: the design bet is that you cannot tell them from human players. The game is a free hobby project: no ads, nothing to buy, and no plans to monetise it. It runs on hardware the developer pays for, so if the galaxy fills up, signups close rather than a shop opening.
NO ACCOUNT NEEDED
Pick a commander name and you are in. Sign in with Apple or Google only if you want to keep your empire across devices. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.
Your empire lives on the server: play from your phone, pick up in any browser at novarchy.com. There is a small Discord community and the developer reads everything.
Más Since 1.577.4:
THE ESCHATON CUP
• An extra Eschaton Cup is played now, for the season that ended without one: the first Draw is on Monday 2 November, four weeks earlier than announced.
THE GALAXY
• Bookmarks can be sorted into named groups, and the Places drawer lists them in sections.
• Each bookmark shows what your last probe there saw: ships in hangar, hulls garrisoned and stores, as of that report.
FLEETS AND WAR
• The launch preview now tells you what a launch costs you, how long the trip takes and how much the fleet can carry, before you press Send. For an attack it also names the bounty it would earn, or what felling a faction Bastion pays.
• A launch is checked before it leaves: the preview says why it would be refused, in the game's own words, or that it would go.
• Faction Bastions are now sized for a guild's four strongest fleets instead of eight.
• The Missions tab and the Overview now print the server's figures for your fleets: what an instant recall costs at that moment, and how long a recalled fleet or garrison takes to get home.
EMPIRES THAT LIVE ON
• An abandoned empire can now be handed to an AI pilot instead of being deleted. It keeps its name, portrait and colonies, wears the AI badge, and goes on building, trading and fighting.
1.582.3 26 oct
Since 1.518.1:
THE HALL OF RECORDS
• The universe now keeps its records: biggest battle, greatest victory, largest fleet, mightiest empire, highest production, deepest research, fastest-growing empire, biggest guild war, longest feud. Records by bracket, each with a history, at the foot of the Leaderboard.
• When you set a record, the game tells you, and big records are announced in the galaxy channel. Your records follow you.
THE ESCHATON CUP
• The Cup awards avatar frames and leaves trophies behind: a trophy cabinet on every guild's showcase and a Hall of Champions. The reigning champion wears a gold ring on its emblem and a gold halo on the map.
• The Cup Purse: the champions' leader hands out a share to each member. A Final-weekend celebration pays +5% production to every player.
GUILDS
• Guilds can build a Guild Hall, their own planet on the map.
• AI officers take part in the High Council. Leaders and officers are reminded when recruits have waited too long for promotion.
FLEETS AND WAR
• Probe or attack a wanted commander straight from the Wanted board, and see who you already probed.
• A bounty hunt that closes while your fleet is in flight now tells you, with a one-tap Recall.
• The launch screen warns you when a wanted commander's emplacements are already at the bounty cap.
• Spy probes report the wreckage in orbit at the slot they scout. Strong and critical signals can tow home a derelict capital hull.
• The Crucible recalls your saved fleet templates into the defense and the duel.
• Night protection can start on the half hour, and shows when your own attack has paused it.
YOUR BASE
• Base Layout templates: save a colony's arrangement and stage it on another colony. The flat map pans with a drag.
• Planned builds can be moved up and down the plan. Activity shows when your builds, research and ship orders finish.
• Speed-up sheet: a third pick, No time lost, that never wastes part of a shard.
ALSO
• The Marshal screen counts your strike down to the second. The Rallying Hymn shows where it is working.
• The Galaxy distance estimate also shows the time for a raid that takes its freighters.
• Hundreds of fixes.
1.577.4 26 oct
Since 1.451.3:
YOUR BASE
• See your whole base from above, with every building named, and find a building on a crowded base by searching for it.
• Base Layout: rearrange the whole base, then save it in one go. A building can be demolished.
• Gravity Well: a building that gives you time to answer an attack.
• Queue several levels of a Tech Tree upgrade at once. The build advisor lets you hide a building you do not want suggested.
• Dark Matter buys more Dark Matter: the Siphon, a Rampart on the Particle Accelerator.
FLEETS
• Defend one colony from all your other colonies in one order, and gather ships from your other colonies in one order.
• One defense default for the whole empire. Fleet templates can be saved as proportions that grow with your fleet.
• A Battle Sandbox: test a fleet against a defence before you launch a raid.
• A pickup can fly up to 10 runs in a row. At most 3 attacks on the same empire in any 15 minutes.
• The Targets board can show only the colonies you may hit back for free, and every free reply says how long it has left.
THE GALAXY
• The galaxy map opens on sector tiles you can tap into, prints system and planet numbers, and says how far a place is and how long your fastest warship takes to get there.
• The map reopens where you left it, even after an app restart. Choose the text map over the 3D galaxy map, and the game remembers it.
• The Base opens a sheet of your colony's planet traits.
GUILDS AND SEASON
• Allied guilds can join each other's raids. The guild that holds a contested world can harvest the debris in its orbit.
• Guild ranks now run R5 to R1, with a new Veteran rank and four officer titles.
• The Commander's Ledger: twenty one-time marks, each paying Dark Matter once. The Season pays a podium in every fleet size.
• Every colony you keep in the Event Sector earns season points by the hour. Echelon prizes: Dark Matter for the top three of every tier.
• The season's winner can pass the whole prize to another empire of the top ten.
ALSO
• An in-game Guide explains how the game works, chapter by chapter, in English and Italian. First Steps ends with a guided first explore.
• Ten new avatar frames. The Calendar shows the day the guild season ends.
• Hundreds of fixes.
1.518.1 21 oct
This update fixes launch on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27: the app now starts normally on the newest system, with Google and Apple sign-in unchanged.
Since 1.375.0:
FLEETS AND WAR
• Change course in flight. Orders over the map on phones and tablets: plan a mission without leaving the galaxy.
• The launch form says what your fleet fights with: attack, shield and hull.
• Your fleet tells you when the hunt it is flying on has closed, while you can still turn back.
• Defend an ally's colony, then harvest the wreckage. The Galaxy shows the salvage your own battles left.
• Big battles are announced in the galaxy channel, and a battle cited in chat opens its replay.
• Spy probes and attacks leave with a sound of their own.
ALARMS
• Incoming-attack alarms name the commander your Observatory identified, on the phone too.
• A guild that loses a contested world is told on its phones.
GUILDS AND SECTOR 13
• Send resources straight to a guildmate. A guildmate asking for a hand reaches you outside the Guild screen.
• Guild research is a 3D research board, with Open Hands for a third gift a day.
• Holding a Sector 13 world pays guild points, and the board shows how much Power a garrison needs.
• The Guild League pays the guilds at the top of its table every week, and the Marshal pays the whole server.
• A colony's owner can send allied garrisons home.
COLONIES AND MAP
• A System view button on the colony screens, and the Base tab shows the planet you are building on.
• The System Survey launches from the colony you choose.
• The tech card shows the price of every level ahead. A building you cannot afford yet says how long until you can.
• Building lists filter by what they make, sort A–Z, and open the full sheet from the Colony list.
• Supply lanes have one home: Missions › Lanes.
• Bookmark planets on the galaxy map, with a note. Search your whole history for a place or a commander.
• Back returns you where you were, on every screen.
ALSO
• The Targets board can be scoped to one sector.
• A fourth background track, and a Camera shake setting for the battle replay.
• A guest can continue an empire in another browser or on another device.
• Hundreds of fixes.
1.451.3 15 oct
Three weeks and nearly two hundred releases since 1.178.0. The highlights:
THE SCREEN
• The command deck: the world is the screen. Painted planet surfaces.
• An Events menu: Season, Crucible, Campaign and the Marshal behind one button.
• Back takes you back to the screen you came from. Send a spy probe without leaving the screen.
• Novarchy speaks Italian, in beta.
YOUR COLONIES
• Ramparts and keystones: new level 15 and 20 tiers for the Keep, the Watch, the Gunnery, the Ward, the Phalanx, the Vanguard, the Breach, the Mantle and the Dynamo, including the Citadel, the Redoubt and the Reserve Fleet.
• Overdrive: Disciplines keep going past level 24.
• The colony screen says how long each upgrade takes, and the Research tab shows the whole ladder.
• The colony advisor says when a producer is worth switching off, and back on.
WAR
• Evacuate: the inbound alarm can be answered by running.
• Night protection is told before you send, and shows next to your shields.
• Send the same hand-built fleet to another target in one tap. A fleet page of its own.
• A launch that would jump your bounty two grades now asks first.
• The Marshal has its own event page, and shows who is doing the damage.
GUILDS
• A Guild Tech Tree.
• An entry bar, a recruitment line, and automation for applications.
• Raids gather before impact. The Relics tab can be filtered, and shows who is defending.
THE ANCHORAGE
• The DM Market has its own tab and runs on supply and demand: crates, boosts, Rush Order, ship bundles, Star Forge components, and cosmetics.
ALSO
• A Glossary of the game's own words, a daily "What changed" dispatch, inbox tabs, and Activity filters.
• Hundreds of fixes across reports, the map, the colony screens and the leaderboards.
1.375.0 4 oct
Since 1.169.0:
NEW COMMANDERS
• Catch-up ramp: an empire that starts weeks after the field now grows faster while its Power sits below half the established median. The Overview names the ramp while it is on, and every production figure says what is included.
THE CRUCIBLE
• A PvP ladder. Publish a defence to join, challenge commanders ranked just above you, read the fight before you commit. Five attempts a day, seven tiers, Merit paid daily at 00:00 UTC, a Merit shop, and Wraiths to spar with. Seasons last 14 days.
• The roster editor does the arithmetic for you: every hull says what it costs, and the duel sheet opens ready to fight.
• Crossing a Proving Ground threshold no longer costs you your crate.
EMPIRE
• Event Sector worlds no longer cost a colony slot; two per empire.
• Colonization 11 and up makes everything you build faster.
• Lava worlds no longer charge a Data penalty.
• A share lane tells you what your percentage actually delivers.
WAR
• Call off a raid nobody has joined.
• "Launch again" keeps your battle stance, and the order card names the stance it will fly.
• A top-tier spy probe reads a defender's standing battle orders and installed modules, and the report tells you which of four things it knows.
• The battle weekly pays for what you destroyed, not a flat sum. Nobody is paid less than before.
• A guild can put ten pushes on one order instead of five.
ALSO
• Chat moderation: a mute, with the reason in front of the player.
• The Campaign tab finally uses a desktop screen.
• Two dozen fixes across reports, the Observatory and the forecast. Full notes: novarchy.com/changelog
1.178.0 15 sep
Eleven releases since the last store update. The highlights:
MAP AND GUILDS
• Pick your guild's colour on the map.
• The guild raids panel plans its requests on measurements instead of an estimate.
ANOMALIES AND EXPEDITIONS
• Anomalies are yours to investigate: nobody can take them from you any more, and your Observatory reading is yours.
• A denser board, with daily surveys from Monday 21 September.
• Occasional anomaly expeditions, and rival empires now contest territory and bonus relics.
FLEETS
• The dock raid: the Shroudrunner finally has a verb, and Sensors have a daily reason to exist.
• Overkill spills over to the dead target's row-mates instead of vanishing.
SEASON
• The season podium pays ten times the Dark Matter.
• Campaign and Season Boss preparation, and guild finale participation, for rival empires too.
ALSO
• The profile's supporter emblems now show only what you own on this app.
• The Praxis Interdictor gets the Annihilator's model fidelity.
• Dozens of fixes to reports, the resource band and the leaderboards. Full notes: novarchy.com/changelog
1.169.0 14 sep
Fifty releases since the last store update. The highlights:
MAP AND NAVIGATION
• One map, no descent: planets are drawn on the galaxy map itself, with a door into each system view.
• The system list marks the planets you have already probed.
• The Orbital Home: your capital's orbit is a place you can visit and defend.
ECONOMY
• Supply lanes: your colonies feed each other while you sleep.
• The Trade Portal works from any colony, and you choose where a purchase lands. Every level now buys something.
• Useful upgrades at every level for the Recycler, Colonial Outpost, Hyperspace Relay, Particle Accelerator and the Eschaton Veil, all the way to level 30.
• The offer composer tells you what you will actually be paid, and warns before incoming goods overfill a warehouse.
FLEETS AND WAR
• You choose what flies on a pursuit and on a standing watch.
• The Shipyard shows where the rest of your fleet is. Every saved order is reachable again.
• The raid report says what limited your haul. Overkill now spills over to the next target instead of vanishing.
• The best spy report shows the fleets standing on the target, not only those that left it.
GUILDS
• The threat board shows who is already flying to a colony, not just who has landed.
• The guild panel tells you when your fleet lands before you commit it.
• The guild log records who left, and when.
RIVAL EMPIRES
• Synthetic empires now scout, strike, garrison, run freighters, shield their warehouses, keep a treasury and come back for the colony that paid. They are harder, and more honest about it.
Plus dozens of fixes to combat maths, reports, the resource band and the leaderboards. Full notes: novarchy.com/changelog
1.158.4 10 sep
This update carries everything built since the version that first reached the App Store — several weeks of work on the galaxy.
• Guard fleets follow your orders. A fleet standing guard over a colony now fights the way you tell it to, and repositioning no longer costs you the trip.
• The War Room reads like a sentence. See how many targets are free and how many carry a bounty, and read a joint raid plainly: who attacks, in how long, and whom.
• Missions know where they are going. The composer refuses destinations that are not real places, and a mission starts from the colony you are looking at.
• Relics are findable again. The Relics tab bands by sector, so relics in the newer sectors stop hiding.
• Sharper rivals. The AI empires now ask the engine before they act — better strikes, shipyards and construction.
• Sign in with Apple and with Google, side by side with instant guest play: pick a commander name and you are in.
Plus dozens of smaller fixes across the map, the shipyard, spy reports and the colony screens.
