OpenCastor is the free, on-device way to set up a home robot and see exactly what you told it to do. Pair a robot on your own network, ask it for one capability, and approve the exact command before it runs. The robot answers with a signed receipt, and when it declines, the refusal is a signed receipt too, not an error. You can verify every receipt on your phone, offline, with no account and nothing sent to a cloud service. SET UP IN MINUTES - Install the runtime on the robot with one copyable command, then scan the pairing code. - Or find the robot on your local network automatically, or type its address. - A clear checklist walks the whole first run, with a plain explanation before any permission prompt. ASK, THEN SIGN THE EXACT COMMAND - Pick a capability from the robot's own manifest. - Before anything runs you see the exact tool name and arguments that will be sent. Read it, then approve. The request is signed on your device with your key. - The app decides nothing on its own. You approve; the robot's gateway responds. TALK TO THE ROBOT YOU PAIRED - Ask in plain language and the assistant drafts a command out of that robot's own manifest. A draft is never sent on its own: it becomes a request only after you read the exact arguments and approve them. - Choose which model answers for each robot: one running on the robot itself, one on this device where the hardware supports it, or one you bring a key for. DRIVE, WITH THE LIMITS IN VIEW - Robots that declare driving get a stick and a plan sheet that send small signed steps inside limits you set, and stop when you say stop. - A paired Apple Watch puts a stop control on your wrist. - Calibration measures a vehicle's real throttle floor and steering trim by watching it take tiny signed steps, instead of guessing them. RECEIPTS YOU CAN VERIFY - Every command comes back as a signed receipt: allowed or refused. - A refusal is itself a signed receipt from the robot's gateway that says which rule declined it, never a silent failure. - Receipts are kept in a hash-chained journal on your phone. Tap Verify to check the signature on-device, with no network. A one-byte tamper toggle proves the check actually works. THE LAB - A workshop for a small walking robot that does not exist yet. Nothing in it talks to hardware. - Watch a life-size gait replay on your own floor at 1:1, play a match whose every goal is hash-chained and signed on the device, or turn the room around you into a scene a policy can be tried against. LOCAL-FIRST, NOTHING COLLECTED - Robot discovery and commanding are direct over your local network. - No account, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, no tracking. Your receipts and journal stay on your device. See "Data Not Collected" in the App Privacy label. AN OPEN ON-RAMP - OpenCastor is built on open building blocks: a robot manifest, a signing gateway, a signed-envelope format, and an open robot registry. - If you run an organization and already have an ingest key, you can push your own signed journal to a shared atlas in one step. That is entirely optional; the whole app works, and stays useful, with no subscription and no sign-up. OpenCastor is a free portfolio project. Give any robot a legible setup, and keep the receipt.

Everything the app learned since its first release. - Chat with the robot you paired. Ask in plain language and the assistant drafts a command out of that robot's own manifest. You still read the exact arguments and approve before anything is sent. - Pick which model answers for each robot: one running on the robot itself, one on this device where the hardware supports it, or one you bring a key for. - Driving, for robots that declare it. A stick, a plan sheet, signed steps inside limits you set, and a calibration pass that measures a vehicle's real throttle floor rather than guessing it. - A stop control on your wrist. The watch app now ships with the phone app. - A Sensors tab for the phone's own cameras, depth, motion and microphone, and for the battery and hardware the robot reports about itself. - Eval mode makes the phone the eyes and ears of an evaluation, sending frames and spoken notes to your own robot's console over your network. - A lab for a small walking robot that does not exist yet: a life-size gait replay on your floor, a signed match, and a room scan. None of it talks to hardware. - Setup is steadier. Discovery now knocks on the ports the runtime actually opens, a busy robot no longer reads as a dead one, and a command names the actuator it is meant for.
