- New home-screen widget: the comic you read last, one tap from where you left off. In Small, and on iOS 27 in Extra Large with title and reading progress. - Paper Comic Reader now speaks German and Italian. - Portrait reading, reimagined: your pages sit side by side in one strip. Read page by page or turn on Continuous Scrolling, and double-tap or pinch to switch between full height and screen width. - Turn your device and reading carries on with the same page in the landscape double-page view, and back again. - In landscape, a swipe down now closes the comic too. - Settings are now grouped into Appearance, Page Turning, Portrait and Landscape.

- A landscape button in the reader's toolbar turns the page sideways and keeps it there, so the double page is within reach even with the rotation lock on. - Pinch to switch between the page at full width and the whole page on screen. On a double page you can now take in both facing pages at once. - On a zoomed double page, swiping moves to the facing page instead of skipping past it, and the page no longer drifts sideways while you read down it. - New installs start with a gentler paper effect, plus a Default preset to come back to. - On iPad, one tap reaches the bottom of a page instead of two.

- Downloads are visible everywhere now: a comic being fetched from your comic folder shows a progress ring in the grid, the list and Discover, and a tap stops it. - In Discover, the Read button offers to download a comic that isn't on your device yet, and turns into Cancel while it fetches. - New in Zoom: Keep Zoom Across Pages carries a zoomed double page over to the next one, so a long read stays at one size instead of dropping back to the whole spread. - A comic folder that can't be reached now says so wherever the download was started, instead of leaving you waiting. - Shuffle is a single tap again on iPad.

- Fixed the paper effect showing a blank white page on iOS 27. - Fixed the reader not rotating to landscape the first time you open a comic straight after downloading it.

- Back up your whole library to a single file, and restore it on any device: comics, bookmarks and progress included. - Mark comics as favorites and filter the library down to just those. - Bookmark an individual story from a comic's contents. - Import comics kept as a plain folder of images, just like a CBZ. - Pinch-zoomed pages now rest neatly against the screen edges. - Facing pages line up as one spread, with an optional hairline gap between the halves.

- Pinch to zoom anywhere on a page, including two-page spreads. Any tap or double-tap brings the page back to full size. - Search your library by character, not just titles and stories. - The tap zones for turning pages are a little smaller, so they get in the way less.

- The reading controls now fade away on their own after a couple of seconds. - Fixed forced landscape drifting out of sync after switching apps and back. - Paper effect sliders now move in clean 5% steps. - New in Settings: re-read a folder's comic details on demand, without touching your bookmarks or reading progress. - Removing a comic folder now asks first. - Shuffle highlights a random comic in the grid and list instead of opening it.

This update makes Paper Comic Reader noticeably smoother: • Large libraries feel much faster now — no more stutter when scrolling through your collections. • The Paper Effect sliders are buttery smooth again. • Sharper cover art in the library and carousel. • The reader controls fade out more gently.
