Reading is better with friends. • Push notifications: friend requests, book club invitations, club messages, and what your friends are reading. Pick which ones you want. • Book clubs: see where everyone is in the book so nobody spoils it. Pick the club's book straight from your own shelf. • Friends: see what a friend is reading right now, with their progress. • Profile pictures on friends, clubs, and the activity feed. • A badge on Friends for new requests, invitations, and club messages. • Fixes for Premium not being recognized and for sign-in expiring.

Friends are here. Sign in with Apple, find friends by username, and see what you have in common — without giving up a thing: every book has a private switch, and private books never leave your shelf. Plus a Delete my account button, because it's your data. Premium readers also get a live feed of what friends start, finish, and rate, and book clubs: pick a book, invite friends, and talk about it. Reminders are kinder: they never arrive on a day you've already logged reading, they're gentle by default, and there's a Nudge Style setting (Gentle, Sassy, or Off) in Profile. Also: hours listened now sits on your Home stats, and switching a book to Audiobook keeps your place instead of losing it.

Reading time is here. • Log how long you read, not just how far. Start a session, stop when you're done, and Shelfd keeps the total for every book. • See "45m on this book" right under the progress bar — for books you're reading and books you've finished. • Premium readers also get their pace: "about 33 pages an hour," worked out only from sessions you actually timed, so it's never padded. • Your genre pie is more honest. Books like The Midnight Library no longer land in Non-fiction, myth retellings sort into Fantasy, and a whole series now sits in one slice instead of three. Existing libraries are re-sorted automatically on first launch. • Fixed books that were stuck in "Other" so they get another look for a real genre. Timing is optional — log pages the way you always have and nothing changes.

Scanning is fixed. If scanning a barcode or searching for a title ever came back with nothing, that's been sorted. Shelfd now checks a second source when the first one can't answer, so your book turns up either way. Also in this update: • Missing covers and page counts now fill in on their own — no need to re-scan or re-add anything • Scanned books get the cover that matches your edition, instead of a different printing • Clearer messages when something actually goes wrong, instead of a blank "no results" Thanks for reading with us.

AUDIOBOOKS AND EBOOKS Every book now has a format — paper, ebook, or audiobook — and Shelfd asks which one you're using when you start reading rather than assuming paperback. Audiobooks count down. Where a paper book shows the page you're on, an audiobook shows the time you have left, the same figure your listening app is showing you. Logging progress asks for that number directly, so there's nothing to convert in your head. Audiobook times are typed on the same keypad as everything else — hours, then minutes. A GOAL WORTH AIMING AT The reading goal is now an archery target, with an arrow that moves closer as the year fills up. Reaching it is a moment rather than a number quietly ticking over. ACHIEVEMENTS YOU CAN OPEN Tap any achievement to see what it took and when you earned it. Locked ones tell you what's still standing between you and the stamp. A BETTER WHEEL Spin the Wheel has been rebuilt in brass and gold, with your real covers set into it. FIXES A bug could quietly reset your reading streak to zero even when you had been logging every day. Fixed, and any streak already affected repairs itself. Audiobooks were showing page numbers in a few places they shouldn't have been. The Marathon Session achievement counted audiobook minutes as pages, so it unlocked far too easily on audio. It's now three hours of listening, and still a hundred pages on paper. UNDER THE HOOD The app was rebuilt from one enormous file into a proper structure. Nothing you can see, but everything after this ships faster.
