SightSpells is a fun, interactive reading game designed to build strong reading skills. With spells, balloons, bunnies, and a witch, kids stay engaged while practicing the words they need to become confident readers. Parents, teachers, and tutors will find it a valuable tool for developing fluency, vocabulary, and word recognition. It works well in both classrooms and at home.
This app includes 426 essential words from the Dolch and Fry word lists, along with 600 practice sentences. These high-frequency words appear in most children’s books and everyday texts, making them crucial for early reading fluency. Since many cannot be sounded out with phonics alone, SightSpells helps learners master them through repetition and play. The words cover pre-primer through third grade and are also helpful for adult learners and individuals with dyslexia.
Two Magical Games:
1. Word Practice: Children read magic words out loud to pop balloons and uncover naughty bunnies. This playful activity helps them learn and recognize sight words.
2. Sentence Practice: Children cast spells by reading full sentences out loud to help the witch soar into the sky. This strengthens fluency and confidence in real reading contexts.
