Free Mahjong Solitaire delivers the classic solo tile puzzle you love — with one extra layer of strategy. Every tile has a point value, and tiles buried deeper in the stack are worth more than surface tiles. The player who clears a path to the bottom doesn't just win — they dominate the IO counter.
AUTHENTIC MAHJONG SOLITAIRE RULES
A tile is only selectable when it is FREE — meaning:
· No tile is sitting on top of it (uncovered)
· At least two of its four sides (left, right, up, down) are open on the same layer
Tap a blocked tile and it shakes — refused. No guessing, no accidents. Every pick is deliberate.
DEPTH-BASED SCORING — THE RULE THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING
Every matching pair earns points. But tiles revealed from deeper in the stack score more than surface tiles. That single rule turns this into a puzzle of priorities:
· Grab the easy surface pair right now?
· Or clear a path toward the buried high-value tiles?
Watch your IO climb — that question defines every board you play.
HINT AND RESET — BUILT FOR PROGRESS
· HINT — Highlights a valid playable pair instantly. Use it before a blind guess kills your momentum.
· RESET — Redistributes tile symbols across all remaining board positions. Faces change, positions don't — new matches appear where the board felt dead.
No timer. No move limit. No game over. Stuck? Reset. Keep going.
