Version 2.8 introduces a powerful new Training experience for trainee roles, with assessment tracking, training schedules, and deeper integration across the app.
New Training Tab
• New Training tab for trainee drivers, trainee conductors, and trainee guards
• Track progress with qualification countdowns, assessment stats, and training milestones
• Record route knowledge, practical, classroom, oral, and in-person assessments
• Support for assessment statuses including Scheduled, Completed, Deferred, Cancelled, and Absent
• Record outcomes as Satisfactory or Not Yet Satisfactory
• Schedule resits and keep full attempt history
• Create named training weeks such as Comeng Traction or X'Trapolis Faults

- Dock Start Time — See your exact dock start time directly on each run, helping you plan breaks, fueling, and lineup more precisely. Turn this on or off in Settings > Calendar & Display.

- Faster Operator Data — Stations, lines, fleet, distances, and dock times now load from a built-in database, so searches are quicker, schedules open faster, and new data can be updated more reliably.
- Smarter Distance Calculations — Distances are now pre-calculated and pulled from the database for faster load times and more consistent mileage. City Loop runs automatically

This update prepares RunBuddy for the opening of the Metro Tunnel and the Summer Start timetable.
Tunnel routes, distances, and datums have all been updated, so your shift logs and tracking stay accurate from day one.
