"Heroes Rise: The Hero Project" is the sequel to last year's hit "Heroes Rise: The Prodigy," the epic interactive novel by Zachary Sergi, where your choices determine how the story proceeds. The game is entirely text-based--without graphics or sound effects--and driven by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Play as male or female, gay or straight; you can even start a "showmance" with the other contestants. What will you sacrifice to become the nation's next top hero?

Ratings and Reviews
Darker, less combat, more drama
The sequel focuses a lot more on drama and hero interactions than actual combat, although you still get the chances to show off your powers every now and then.
While the first game was very clearcut about who the heroes and villains were, for most of the game there is, quite frankly, almost no direct contact with the villain. Most of your confrontations involve the other heroes you're competing with, which under the circumstances makes sense since you're all in a reality TV competition.
It can drag on at times, and the story is pretty set in how its going to proceed, although in exchange for that you get a story that's very well fleshed out. A lot of the themes in the story have been seen before in other media, but if you've ever wanted to play through such scenarios this is you're chance.
It ends on a pretty obvious sequel hook too, especially that surprise meeting with [redacted]. I can't wait to see where they take the story from here.
