I love how Taobao has a lot of choices in terms of items listed compared to other shopping platforms. Although it’s all in Mandarin, I don’t mind translating with Google Translate and my bf helps me with that aspect anyways (my Mandarin skill isn’t good enough to use this app). However, I can’t seem to use online banking through the app on iPad. I tried downloading Taobao app for iPad but still couldn’t work. I tried using my phone but my payment couldn’t go through. I tried paying on desktop mode but it seems to redirect me to Alipay. I’m honestly stressed out by this because the item that I want is waaay cheaper than other shopping apps and I really really want to give Taobao a chance. Locks you out for no reason and restricts your account to force you to verify yourself via alipay

(Im based outside of China ie Malaysia). FYI do NOT use taobao unless you already have a verified alipay account or are planning to make one, because the app will keep logging you out only to then restrict your account. The only way to lift the restrictions is to request a call to your number (which I never got!) or to link and verify your taobao via your alipay. If you, like me, dont have an alipay account, you will be forced to make one, which means having to submit personal identification like a selfie and your passport. I genuinely thought it would be as easy to shop on here as it is on other apps like shein, but it isnt. It feels like a blatant data grab by forcing you to submit more personal details than you would like. I now cannot check on the order I have already placed and paid for before being locked out of my account, and will now have to figure out how to dispute this as the CS did not solve the issue for me. I dont know why they even bothered launching the app in English in other regions outside of China if they cannot even iron these issues out. Not all of us want an alipay account!! Will never shop here again

Have been using Taobao for a few months, like that it has a vast range of varieties sellers/shops to browse from, and u can compare the prices & the reviews of buyers for similar products or same products. Logistic is top notch fast & 100% traceable, the Taobao Customer Service is also very good, solve all my problems so far. Have shopped a few times & also refunded successfully for 5 items that I have wrongly selected, refund was done real time after contacting the seller, and was refunded in a few days time, super efficient. Products is attached with many images & lots of details online, it’s even more detailed compared to actual stores. Good job Taobao!
Vouchers problem

I started using a few months ago and had purchased two products (a shirt and a phone case. Two were good qualities.) the problem I’ve been having these past few weeks were the vouchers 😓 most of the vouchers would be available at exactly 12:00 a.m. and I would wait about 10-20 minutes early just for it to say “coming soon”. At first i thought it was just a glitch but it happened a lot when i use it and it’s really frustrating (i also use my mom’s phone and it did the same😭). please fix it or just don’t put out vouchers if i can’t even use it!! Im a student and I don’t work so I kind of care about paying for 10 ringgit shipping fees 😔 + there’s barely vouchers comparing to other online shop and the vouchers only lasted a few hours?? Okie bai
