I’ve used HelloTalk for about 8 months now but for some reason, my posts don’t seem to appear on moments to the public? Usually when I post it would get noticed almost instantly but now it doesn’t. It has been going on for a few weeks now please help, I post questions regarding about the language I learn but I can’t get responses due to this issue.

I had been a dedicated user of HelloTalk for over five years, consistently finding it to be a valuable platform for language exchange. In fact, I had always intended to leave a glowing 5-star review to commend its effectiveness and user-friendly interface. However, recent events have forced me to reconsider my opinion entirely. My account was unjustly removed from HelloTalk, citing "political" reasons as the cause. This decision was made despite the fact that there was no political content whatsoever on my account. The incident occurred during a conversation with a friend where we were discussing media ethics. I simply referenced a historical event to highlight the neutrality of media in the past. To my shock, my account was promptly and permanently banned without warning or explanation. Naturally, I attempted to appeal this decision through HelloTalk's support team, hoping for a rational explanation or at least a chance to rectify any misunderstandings. Unfortunately, my efforts were met with nothing but irresponsible replies and a lack of transparency. The support team failed to address my concerns adequately, leaving me feeling frustrated and unfairly treated. Based on this egregious experience, I strongly advise against downloading HelloTalk. Not only was my account wrongfully removed, but the lack of accountability and poor customer support only exacerbate the issue. It's a shame that a platform I once held in high regard has failed so miserably in upholding fairness and transparency. Save yourself the trouble and avoid HelloTalk at all costs – it's nothing but a waste of time. Consequently, I'm compelled to give HelloTalk a 1-star rating, reflecting its failure to meet even the most basic standards of user respect and communication.

I have used Hellotalk for three years and I was very happy at the start but now I’m extremely disappointed by what they’re doing ! I’m from Malaysia and I’ve put my native language as English because it was the language I was taught to at first and Malay isn’t a native language to every Malaysian but recently they changed my native language themselves to Malay and I contacted them and cleared it and I had to send a voice note of myself speaking in English to prove that English is my native tongue and they approved of it and changed it back and then a few days later they changed it back to Malay again and I’m extremely angry and disappointed with how they’re controlling my account 😡😡😡

This app is full of issues. Once you delete the app from your phone for whatever reason and then re-download it, all your chats disappear. How cheap do you have to be to tie users’ chats so closely to their devices! Also, the app drains my iPhone’s battery so much that it’s worrying. The developers just want your money because literally for every action you perform on this app, they’ll ask you get the VIP version, until nothing is free and users are forced to purchase VIP. There are also so many fake accounts that belong to scammers. If you really want to learn a language, I suggest you invest in a better app than this piece of crap!
