Finally working

Got an actual call from the developer team who wanted to know more about my problem. And after a couple of hours, he managed to solved the issue and I can finally use the App. Kudos to the team for the personalise touch. Looking forward to link the app to my Mesra Card and using the function at my nearest Petronas station.

I use this all the time now (except for my Euro-5 car as the number of Petronas station with Euro-5 is really limited).

I also would like to recommend that Setel works with some of the credit card companies as a lot of them has 5x points for fuel usage. If I reload Setel with the same credit card, I get 1x points because it considers Setel as a normal purchase, and not a Fuel Purchase.

Great initiative, frustrating experience

I’ve only managed to use the app once. Even during my first time with the app, the petrol pump did not automatically stop at the amount I selected and I had to manually stop it. After that it has been a series of frustrating attempts at stations where the app would just be stuck at the loading page. Most recently, it asked me to update the app while I was at the petrol pump with cars waiting behind me!!! Hello developers, please put some thought into this. I cannot sit in the car to download the app update when I want to just use the fuel pump and other drivers are waiting for me to use the fuel pump. Also, when in some stations, my data signal strength goes to 3G which makes the app sometimes unusable (stuck on loading screen), what more to download an update!!

Update 6 June: Today I tried to use setel again and again the app wants me to update at the fuel pump. Please la I just want to settle my petrol quickly!

Update in reply to Dev’s response: Yes I did write to Customer Support. Her reply was to tell me make sure the app is updated. I wrote back to tell her I’m not so free to check App store daily for updates. The app updates are too frequent!

Terible experience due to time out

Tried to use Setel on 3jun2019 at petronas bandar tun hussein onn.

Top up process was slow and hit time out many times but kept trying to perform top up.

As the apps keep giving time out, I proceed to withdraw money and pay over counter.

After filled up petrol, I got email from Setel that my saving account was deducted RM150!!

My saving account was taken RM200 with this issue.(plus rm50 cash paid at counter)

This is SETEL system glitch.

Contacted SETEL via chat. The reps said it takes 7 days to refund. Why is that customer need to wait for 7 days to get refund for the problem that caused by system belong to Setel. System seems not ready and has bugs which no workaround solution to handle such situation to refund back customer’s money immediately if due to system error.

They took two days to confirm me the approval to refund without waiting for 7 days. Keep giving excuse higher management will decide and someone will call. This is unacceptable excuse for mistake came from Setel.

This is the risk for customer that your account will be deducted in error due to Setel system glitch.

I will not recommend Setel and please uninstall your apps to avoid your money will be taken out into Setel wallet in error where you will not get back easily.

Please share before more people will fall into same trouble.

Old way of purchasing petrol is more secure than using SETEL apps.
