Convenient and Useful

The whole concept of the app is great. Execution is fairly good too. I use Socar service a few times since I don’t own a car and I find it very convenient and useful for me.

The price (hourly rate, insurance & mileage) is fair, made more affordable if you use promo codes. Car availability and option is good, I always manage to find a car suitable to my budget, timing and location. Car is controlled within the app, so need to make sure battery and network connection is good. Fuel usage is unlimited, and easy to claim in-app. Car conditions are hit-and-miss i.e. some are clean, some are messy. Sometimes, I find the car to be unserviceable but quickly rectified (swap cars) by reaching out to the customer service. Usually unserviceable car would not be listed as available though.

Overall I am very satisfied with Socar. A few hiccups sometimes but usually the process goes smoothly. Recommended to use for people like me who don’t own a car, or if you want to try out different models of cars.

Not actually reliable

First of all I must admit they have nice cars and simple app to use. However, it’s completely not reliable is you booking for something urgent even it’s been booked for few days before using it. For my last booking both cars wasn’t at the mentioned location for a reason or another and when you try to contact them through call there’s no response you can only reach them out through live chat which is usually takes a while for the hight traffic on it. I was booking the car urgently to do my personal matters but ended up being late cuz the car isn’t at the location. Even for one time they replaced my booking which I have confirmed 3 days before just 10 mins before my booking and there reason was that the car isn’t at the location, they latterly gave me replacement car about 40 mins away from my actual booking location which I didn’t confirm, they will just say book yourself a grab and send us the receipt to pay you back even if you don’t have time to do such thing and if you don’t like their solutions you can just cancel your booking it’s really frustrating. I really don’t understand how their customer service works at all. They certainly have many things to approve…

Live chat support didnt respond at all

So i rent a car at TBS for one day from 9am to 10pm. After drive around KL, i returned the car 30 minutes prior to the end time. I accidentally parked the car at the wrong parking spot (because u have to park it at the socar parking spot at level 4) and I realised i made a mistake so i drive and go back to the L4 and parked at the parking spot. However, the apps keep showing error and i tried it many times. Still, keep showing error. I reached to the “24/7” live chat support to assist me. Mind that i have to catch a bus at 10pm. Until 10pm, i didnt receive any message from the person who should be assisting me (in the live chat, u need to chat with AI first and then provide your name and email id, then they will connect u to the person in charge). Saw someone said that the socar customer support reached out to them (not assuming gender so i used them instead of he/she) after 6 hours. Walaoweh 6 hours sia u push rank valorant or what? I really hope you guys can be more responsible. If you asked me either i should suggest this socar to a friend, i will suggest them to go around kl by public transport or naik kuda instead of using socar. Worst customer support ever 👎👎👎👎👎👎.

Ps: i wrote this review inside the bus and till now, no reply from them. Sheesh
