The Star ePaper 12+

Worst app in Malaysia now.

Not sure why you even came out with this new version of the app, when the previous one is much better. This version is filled with bugs, very unstable, and I have to keep closing the app as there were some blurry pages on each section of the paper.

However, the above mentioned flaws have nothing compared to the biggest one of all, the inability to take a screenshot and even threatening to terminate my account when I took a screenshot? Did you even warn me that I can’t take a screenshot in the terms and conditions? I took a screenshot by mistake on the app and you logged me out with a warning?! There is even a 10-minute timer to punish me? Great job, guys. You are in line to becoming the worst app in Malaysia with this. I’m reconsidering to terminate my subscription after it expires and I will convince a huge group of my family and friends that are your loyal subscribers for many years to leave you as well, if you can’t change your ridiculous policy.

Instability of the app

I have been a user of Star ePaper for the past 8 years and is happy with the previous version. This new version is not stable at all. It keeps quitting in the middle of reading and I have to go back to flipping it page by page again. Please improve the stability of this version.
Also, on the taking screenshot copy restriction, it is a very silly restriction. While you can track a person taking screenshot, you can’t track him / her using mobile phone to take a picture. So, what’s the point of restricting? Plus we are paid users, don’t we have a right to keep some of the nice articles for our future reference?

Worst App Experience

It’s the worst app I have ever encountered. I wouldn’t give it a single star if it’s not due to I need to tap a star to rate this “stupid” app.

I emailed my complaints to customer service and it took them 8 days to respond. That speaks a lot of volume about customer service department.

My problem is I can’t even log in to the Star ePaper. I hv tried deleting and reinstalling the app and the problem still persist. Customer Service replied and told me to check with my mobile service provider. I check and they (Maxis) told me that there is nothing wrong on their side which I would certainly believe them cos’ as long as I hv Internet access then I should b able to download my daily issue from the Star ePaper app…..isn’t that right ??

So can someone from technical team look into this “frustrating” app and resolve my problem !!
