The Star app is free to download, and all users can access a limited number of articles per month. Subscribers get unlimited access to all content and features on the app and The Star online.
Rates may vary by location. Subscriptions will be charged to your credit card through your Apple account. Subscriptions are offered at MYR9.90 per month, and will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel anytime by going to Account Settings and turning off the auto-renewal function. The Introductory Offer may only be claimed once. Any unused portion will be forfeited when you subscribe.

Unable to access content cause not subscribed
I'm fairly disappointed with the system implemented in the app.
Most of the articles are being shown only 1 paragraph while others are blocked unless we are subscribed.
A note to the developers if you're ever reading is that you can actually allow people to watch an ad in order to read an article if that's required for you to earn some money by giving free content. I'm not saying not to feed your journalists or writers.
But if anyone that is going through hardships have to pay in order to keep themselves updated, I do think more and more people will not be updated with the news.
Bad advertisement
If you planning to put some advertisements on the application, at least try not to ruin the experience trying to read the news. Every article i’ve clicked there’ll be advertisement which takes 5-10 seconds to skip and i know there’s “premium subscription” but come on try to make it easy for users to read news article. Rather go to the website Star article than the app itself and the advertisement you advertise is either explicit and advertising for another news outlet. y’all are so dumb.
Unable to read news articles
It’s very annoying when half of most of the news article are grayed off to prevent full reading just because we do not agree in paying the subscription. During this trying times, The Star Paper should be helping the community by providing complimentary news read. We are partly saving the green environment by not purchasing hard copy newspaper through reading online.
Please reconsider to waive the subscription fee until the economy revives and return to normal.
