So far so good!
Just installed it today and it’s been a relief to get good internet speeds and stable wifi all over the house! I never realised how shortchanged we were with our connectivity at home until I set up the Deco mesh wifi! But it will be good if we could also be able to see real time internet speeds so we know how much bandwidth we’re using at any one time, or if there’s a problem with the ISP or something.
3-Pack double storey house: WiFi keeps dropping
I stream music using WiFi to 3 speakers; one has WiFi receiver built-in whilst the other two use the Apple Airport Express as receivers. Music is streamed from the Music app via AirTunes (AirPlay) on my Mac. The connection to these three speakers drop momentarily at random irregular intervals causing the music to drop. I have to turn off fast roaming because some of my devices do not support that. Other than that, all settings are at the default. I feel I might need additional satellite units due to the amount of concrete in the house like the stairs and the walls plus the WiFi connection on my Mac is terribly slow, I think it’s coz of the L-shape with the block of concrete stairs. It’s terribly frustrating as I had anticipated a faster stronger more stable WiFi connection when I upgraded to mesh. It makes me think I’ve wasted money and that I should’ve stuck with my Archer C6 router. Sigh!
Good updates! Keep them coming
Overall the app is good after the updates!
I use it regularly. Keep the updates coming.
The Network Optimization feature does not tell what optimization is performed. Seems more of a feel good gimmick. The network needs to be optimized everyday.
My Deco M9 Plus had better performance before TP-Link introduced network optimization.
Want to see option for auto & manual WiFi channel setting, this feature is standard in non-mesh routers.
Why not for Deco routers too?
1) Wish to see which WIFI band the devices are connected to in the app. And be able to manually choose which WIFI band to use for each device. <*not solved*>
2) There seems to be a bug. The total count of connected network devices each day in the monthly report is not accurate. I’ve at least 7 devices connected daily, but it shows like half of the days in the month with 0 connected devices. This is happening with all my monthly reports.
Please look into this bug. <*not solved*>
3) For Address Reservation:
Please make the IP address editable to allow admin to assign preferred fix IP to device. <*found a workaround*>
