Description
Cy-FIS is an application developed for the recording and reporting Fishing Activities by professional and amateur Fishermen as well as other related activities for the purposes of fisheries resource management by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research.
The project is co-financed by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund - Action 3.1.7 of Article 76.2, Measure 3.1 Control and Enforcement, of the Operational Programme «Thalassa 2014-2020».
Cy-FIS is a free multi-functional application for the electronic recording and reporting of fisheries data, fisheries monitoring, compliance and communication with the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research. The application was developed by Quality & Reliability A.E. for the purpose of data collection and for the sustainable management of Fisheries recourses by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research.
The application has been designed mainly for fishermen and offers the possibility to automatically log a fishing vessel’s position at sea while enabling fishermen to register their fishing operations. It contains an interactive map showing the route of the vessel at sea and notifies the user for the restricted areas to which crossing over and fishing is prohibited or for areas that are under specific fishing measures.
