ReadLock helps you break free. It locks distracting apps, websites, and social media while you read, so you can finally beat doom-scrolling, cut screen time, and finish the books you start, whether physical or e-book.
Set a reading time and choose the apps or website categories that distract you most. When your reading session starts, ReadLock locks those distractions using Screen Time, so you can stay focused while you read on paper or on a digital reader. When the session ends, simply open ReadLock and update your reading progress/notes to unlock your apps again, turning “just one more scroll” into “just one more page.”

ReadLock is designed for anyone who wants to read more, stay consistent, and protect their attention—one focused session at a time.
How to use this app
1. You can use the app with or without credentials.
2. After onboarding, go to Locked Apps → Add, then grant Screen Time permission and select a few apps/categories/websites to lock.
3. Go to Set Reading Time and set a short window (e.g., a few minutes ahead) to verify that shielding activates and later removes.
4. When a session is active, opening a locked app shows the ReadLock shield screen.
5. To unlock after the session ends, open ReadLock → open any book → tap Update Progress → Save (this confirms progress and ends the lock).
Optional sign-in methods: Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, and Guest mode.
Ads / subscriptions (if applicable): Free users may see AdMob interstitial ads at certain points. Premium users can remove ads via an in-app subscription (paywall powered by Superwall).
Important permissions: Screen Time permission is required to enable app blocking. Without it, the app will still run but cannot shield apps/sites.
