Nice as cheap DAW controller for Reaper
It’s a little tricky to get it working with Reaper on Windows 10 ( version 20H2)
1. Install rtpMIDI
2. Make sure in you’re Windows network properties to mark the connection to you’re network as Private (not Public, because it can’t detect other devices in the network)
3. Start the DAW control app
4. In rtpMIDI add a session and connect you’re iPad by clicking it in the Directory and clicking connect.
5. In Reaper select Mackie Control.
I had some trouble reconnecting. I added my iPad hostname manually and now everything is running fine.
Potiential killer app
I use this for Logic. It’s a really great app, works easier than Logic Remote. Reason I’m not giving it 5 stars yet is that it’s customizability doesn’t yet come into it’s full potential. There’s no manual for it and it’s too tedious to figure it out by yourself (at least for me). Logic remote much easier let’s you assign custom controls. Other than that, great tool, worth the money.
Doesn’t work
My windows 10 PC is connected via ethernet, my iPad via wifi powerline adapter. Can’t setup a session with rtpMidi. Instructions are for IT techies. Wish I can get my money back.
