.DS finder only supports installing DSM on most models (rack mount models, desktop models of FS and XS series, and EDS14 excluded).

Ratings and Reviews
Update 3.5.0. Bug: Not able to select NAS you want to manage
I have multiple Synology NAS. Since the lastet update I can’t select the NAS I want to manage.
I am forced to login the NAS I used last. And then I can switch to another NAS I want to manage.
This is ultimate inconvenient.
Please update the app and restore the possibillity to select the NAS you want to connect.
WHY REMOVE h265/hevc?
[Symptoms]
"We zijn toegewijd aan het verbeteren van de gebruikerservaring met elke update, " zei Kenneth Hsu, Directeur van de System Group.
BIG DISRUPTIVE Downgrade of user experience if (essential) update is installed, making Mr Hsu a lier, a fraud an and thief! He’s free read and to answer to me personally!
[Time of Occurrence]
IF/WHEN installing 7.2.2 since:
Starting from this version, the processing of media files using HEVC (H.265), AVC (H.264), and VC-1 codecs will be transitioned from the server to end devices to reduce unnecessary resource usage on the system and enhance system efficiency.
I think that I AM THE USER AND I CAN JUDGE THIS MYSELF! THIS FUNCTION IS/WAS THE MAIN REASON FOR INVESTING IN SYNOLOGY!!
I do NOT need a crappy explanation since it is VERY NECESSARY TO STORE AND DECODE H265 & HEVC AND THUS NOT A PROBLEM TO SPEND MY POWER AND MY CPUCYCLES ON THIS!!
that explanation is simply intolerable and I think very untrue as well.
moving my iPhone media & backup & camera security system from “perfect” to “impossible” in a single step “to maximise user experience and system efficiency” rubbish THERE IS NO DECENCY IN SUCH A REMOVAL OF FUNCTION AND NO EFFICIENCY LEFT SINCE THE EXPERIENCE IS RUINED (by Mr Hsu &co!)
[Actions Before Occurrence or Steps to Reproduce the Problem]
None or: create a system full of iPhone and iPad media players n multiple households spend a couple of thousand € on h265 cameras , high grade disks and Synology and AV1 storage.
[Error Message and Screenshot]
I don’t know whether I can update?
25/11/23: next to the 2FA popping up before PIN and without device/account id (multiple machines with different accounts anyone?) the ‘system info’ still shows up if you ignore the 2FA pop-up and hit cancel: do not by default show cached information on that screen since that partially defeats 2FA security! —- 11/2023: somehow the incorrect order of asking for ‘verification codes’ is back. Even before the app is ‘opened with PIN’ the ‘2FA pop-up’ is on screen. When there are multiple devices WITH DIFFERENT USER-2FA within the app… how can one even see what code to enter if the app is still on the PINscreen?? 1) PIN 2) machine-user 3) password 4) 2FAcode (if saved skip 2&3, but 1 THEN 4 remains true!)_______Previous:After quite some time the Synology team worked through the prior login-2FA-check issues of the new version, thanks for that.____ sadly in one of the updates another issue has occurred: the ‘mobile web login’ does no longer follow the user preference/setting. It should open and use the webbrowser that is set as Default Browser within the iOS system settings, it doesn’t. So to open up that gateway I gave to go through more steps and do things manually that in the previous version of this app were ‘respected’ and ‘automated correctly’, another digression to work out if the Synology apps!
