First of all let me first say that this game is entirely FREE-to-PLAY... in theory. So to start off, the game on it’s own is quite fun, casual, and has a sense of accomplisment when you finally finish that darn difficult level. It has some RPG elements in the way that you have to upgrade gear in order to improve one of your main Characters. So in a nutshell fun casual rpg- type game. But then... After hitting a certain level the developers increase the difficulty of the levels to extreme proportions ( for me this was around lvl 16), every level from then on gets their difficulty increased ten-fold.Now, how to overcome this obstacle of the levels getting harder? The answer is quite simple: upgrade your gear. And this is the point where this fun game gets the all too familiar cash grab greed paywall side, wich we’ve become accustomed to with mobile games. The upgrade system works in a threeways item upgrade system in the sense that you need three identical items to upgrade one item to the next tier. The tiers are- grey (common)- green (uncommon)- blue (rare)- purple (epic)- purple gold (super epic)- gold (legendary)- gold shiny (epic legendary)And just in case ( better tier = better stats/damage )So in short in order to get one item to epic legendary one would have to accumulate 2187!!!!!!! Common items. It seems less doable with every tier. Take into consideration that the chances of one item dropping (if an item dropping whatsoever) are very slim. But there’s a solution to that, CHESTS. Now these chests come in a variety of form but for clarity’s sake there are two variants where you can get your items from.- a gold chest (holds 1 item ranging from common to uncommon)- a obsidian chest (holds 1 item ranging from uncommon to epic)The chests themselves can be accumulated by the free to play model, obby chests are gifted once a week. Gold chests can be opened daily once after watching an ad.Considering that you need 2187 (roughly) of the same item it would take an extremely long time (and luck) to eventually get one item to epic legendary status.Buuuuuut there’s a shortcut. -pay for the chests-You can pay for the chests with ingame currency called “gems” to buy chests. For example if i wanted to buy one obsidian chest i’d have to pay 300 gems. Gems are bought with ingame money, as of this moment 80 gems cost me €1,09. Wich in turn means a single obsidian chest costs me nearly €5. And of course the gems get cheaper the more you buy in a single purchase but still i doubt there are few people who’d fork over €104,99!!! for 14000 gems...So imagine, one can easily pour 1000’s of €$£¥ into this game without even achieving the result of having one epic legendary (of course the items you get from chests are purely based on luck, but you get the idea). And there is also a way to upgrade your stata of gear (not tier). I’m not even going in to that, but take into consideration that real money is involved here as well.So in short the game is fun, but gets extremely difficult in a short time, wich ultimatly forces one to either play this game free to play for years without result. Or have one spend hundreds, if not thousands of euro’s, dollars etc to progress. This horrible way of doing business is why i rate this game 1-5.Cheers!
