Sociale Media Zonder Afleiding

Productiviteit

Gebruiksvoorwaarden: https://socialfocus.app/tos/

Use this to stop websites from ‘giving’ you stuff that melts your brain. Go back to consuming content with intent. Absolute 10/10 if configured properly.

I opened the app to try it out for YouTube and it immediately asked me for permission to view my data on other websites, like gmail. Given the amount of permissions involved I find this a huge red flag. I accidentally clicked accept. I now cannot change these permissions, since they are not in the list in the settings. Then it kept asking me for permission to access twitter, even though I was not on that website or am even logged into it. I don't know what this app is doing in terms of privacy, but the permissions it is asking for are really worrisome.

Reactie van ontwikkelaar
The permission prompt you saw is Apple’s default message for Safari extensions and doesn’t fully describe what the app actually does. The extension only needs access to sites like YouTube, Reddit, or Twitter to block distracting content. No personal data is collected or sent anywhere — everything runs locally on your device.
