I’m a Diamond user and play several puzzles daily. But the new gameplay makes not a single sense. It only frustrates big time.No improvement over the last couple of months. Literally none, while I try completing like 50 puzzles at least daily. Performing like 3 of the 4 moves correct, still makes me lose 12-15 rating points. Getting the first move wrong costs me 25 points (!) immediatly (??)… Every correct puzzle only returns 2-4 points, making me rather lose rating than gain it. Moves must be EXACTLY engine perfect, even if alternatives are possible. It is not possible to grow this way anymore, and it also is not even fun this way, everytime losing rating, and losing trust in your own game, cause you are expected to think like a computer. You require players to rather play like computers instead of human, otherwise puzzles won’t be this strict. I reckon puzzles needs more improvement to be more human like, and lead requiring computer thinking, as that is not the way to learn Chess. You should encourage people, but clearly, Chess is not for everyone, even if you pay for lessons.I’m highly considering to quit Diamond, as it is rather frustrating and stressful currently, instead of relaxing as Chess shoud be. I’m quite disappointed, sorry guys.
Sorry for the difficulties with Puzzle rating adjustments! We've added a new setting to let you customize the difficulty of chess puzzles on the Chess.com app. For more challenging puzzles where you can earn more rating points (while losing fewer for misses), choose the "Extra hard" mode in the menu: More > Settings > Puzzles. In Puzzles on Chess.com, the goal is to find the best moves possible, which may lead to win of material, checkmate, or saving a draw. Each chess puzzle has only one correct solution. It's important to find the most precise move that leads to checkmate or the biggest advantage. For help, visit: www.chess.com/support
