I am using it to backup to an external drive connected to my Raspberry Pi using Samba. Works perfectly. Make sure to use ext4 filesystem.

I first heard about Parachute Backup Mobile on the ATP podcast while looking for a reliable way to back up my iCloud Drive files and photos.The app worked perfectly on both my iPhone and iPad. I was able to back up everything to my NAS as well as to an external SSD that I keep at a separate location. Having multiple backups gives me real peace of mind in case disaster strikes.The app is easy to set up and use, and it does exactly what I need it to do. If you’re looking for a straightforward way to create independent backups of your iCloud data and photos, I can highly recommend it.

The original developer sold a nice app (and their soul) to the highest bidder, only so that the new owners can make the app worse and worse with each update. Mark my words, within a few months the app will be filled with transactions, ads, and privacy invading tracking.I’d advice anyone to find a different app, this one is lost! Sadly!

Since there was no "bidding" for Parachute Backup, I can assure we were not the highest bidder.Just in case we manage to prove you wrong, how many months are "a few"? Would you be willing to update your review in case there won't be any transactions, ads or "privacy invading" tracking? Yes, we did add tracking already, but it's both opt-in and anonymous, not tracking any of your data, just app usage. We want to learn what to focus on, so we can invest in the features benefitting our users.

MIRRORING
Photos and Files backups can now follow your library and folders: items you delete leave the backup too. A Deleted folder keeps them first, for as long as you choose.

The main screen meets the fold with the status on one half and the controls on the other, and fits the outer screen when closed.
SHORTCUTS AND SIRI, REIMAGINED
A new Start Backup action replaces Start Photo Backup and Start File Backup, joined by actions to stop a backup and ask how it is going. Your existing shortcuts keep working.
