OpenBackup — Reliable backup status monitoring for macOS
Know whether your Mac backups are running as expected, wherever you are.
OpenBackup is a focused companion app for monitoring backup jobs created with SuperDuper! on macOS. It does not remotely control your Mac and never opens, copies or uploads your backup contents. Instead, it reads a small status file that is updated after your backup runs.
Whether you are at home, at work or away, OpenBackup gives you a clear overview: did the latest backup succeed, when did it run, and how much free space is reported for the backup destination?

HOW IT WORKS
1. SuperDuper! runs the backup on your Mac.
2. OpenBackup Setup installs the status monitor on your Mac.
3. After a backup runs, the monitor updates a small status file.
4. You make that status file available through Google Drive, Dropbox or your own HTTPS server.
5. OpenBackup reads the file and displays the current status on your iPhone.
OpenBackup monitors backup status. It does not create backups, modify SuperDuper! jobs or inspect the files inside your backups.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Your backup data remains under your control.
OpenBackup only reads the status file from the location you configure. Personal documents, passwords, photos and backup contents are not uploaded to OpenBackup. No OpenBackup account is required and the app contains no advertisements.

• A Mac running macOS
• SuperDuper! with at least one configured backup job
• OpenBackup Setup installed on the Mac
• Google Drive, Dropbox or an HTTPS server for the status file
• An iPhone with OpenBackup

FREE AND PRO
OpenBackup Free lets you use a Google Drive status link and view the latest status and details of the first backup job.
OpenBackup Pro is a one-time, non-consumable In-App Purchase. It unlocks all backup jobs in the configured status file, Dropbox, custom HTTPS servers, manual refresh, configurable refresh intervals and backup status notifications.
No subscription is required. Previous purchases can be restored from within the app.
