PenKit is a productivity extension for Safari designed to work with Apple Pencil. It brings web input, text selection, and local organization together in one smooth workflow.
A large writing pad for the web
Focus a supported text field to open a roomier editing area for handwriting and reviewing your text. You can choose to open the pad only when you tap with Apple Pencil, and hide the on-screen keyboard while the pad is visible. Individual fields can also be excluded when you do not need PenKit there. PenKit does not save the text you enter in them.
Select, copy, and save text from webpages
After selecting webpage text with Apple Pencil, copy it directly or explicitly save it to PenKit notes. HTTP and HTTPS links within the selected text are preserved so you can return to them later.
Organize notes by source
Clippings from the same webpage are automatically grouped into one page note. View the source, edit the title and clippings, copy content, or delete records you no longer need.
Fine-grained controls for each website
The writing pad and notes have independent switches and scopes. Apply either feature to every authorized website or enable it only for selected sites. You remain in control of Safari's website access permissions at all times.
Privacy first, stored locally
PenKit requires no account and contains no ads, analytics, tracking SDKs, or third-party sign-in. Settings, notes, and sanitized recent diagnostic logs are stored in a private App Group container on your device. PenKit does not independently upload web input, saved notes, or browsing activity to servers operated by the developer. A diagnostic package leaves the app only when you explicitly export it and choose where to share it.

• Enable the PenKit Safari extension in Settings and allow access to the websites where you want to use it
• Apple Pencil interactions require a compatible iPad and Apple Pencil
